Yes hardened armor and gauss rifle ammo can become costly, but it will take a lot to bring the mech down. With the salvage that you can get from the mechs that you destroy it can pay for its self.

How many mechs do you know that it would take three AC20 hits in the rear center torso to take out the mech.
Why argue if the glass is half full or half empty, when you know someone is going to knock it over and spill it anyways.

Is hardened armor now tournament legal? If so that is a shame. Your 'mech is decent at what it does but in my book it is level 3(I will never get used to this new tech level crap). Hardened armor on assaults just makes for boring zombie 'mechs. Look at the great turtle.

Nope, still experimental, and therefore not tournament legal, unless the tourney has some sort of special rules allowing it.
