Overview:
After several decades of struggle in the aftermath of the Jihad, Randam
Mechwerks could finally claim it was back on track. One of the first major new
designs was the Decapitator, a heavy mech designed for close combat in built-up
areas.

Capabilities:
The Decapitator is an exercise in psychology first and foremost. Everything
from the height, the body shape, and even the shape of the axe was designed to
instill fear or at least impress anybody facing the Decapitator. As of this
writing the Decapitator is the tallest heavy mech currently in production while
the cockpit sits higher than any other design so that enemy pilots would feel
overmatched by the Decapitator. The hatchet was shaped after a bearded
executioner's axe, again designed to look as impressive as possible.

Though great care was taken with its appearance the actual weaponry was not
neglected. The main armament is composed of a heavy PPC with capacitator,
giving the Decapitator a fearsome ranged punch. An MML-9 gives it versatile
firepower both at long range and up close, delivering a withering volley of
SRMs. When fighting at close range the Decapitator mounts a pair of ER Meduim
Lasers and twin Medium X-Pulse lasers.

A triple strength myomer helps the pilot to handle the heavy heat generated by
the energy weapons and increases the damaged delivered by the Hatchet. Early
tests have shown that few mechs were able to get close enough without having at
least one body section breached and exposed to SRM fire that could easily
damage internal components.

Battle History:
The Decapitator has been fighting on the Solaris circuit for the last few years
and has done exceptionally well.

Variants:
A number of minor variants have been tested, they involve removing the Pulse
lasers in favour of ER models, leaving two tons of space to install a C3 Slave,
ECM systems or even two extra ER Medium Lasers.
