Interesting and powerful take. It's a little like the 2-4T but with more damaging guns. However, if the tonnage was altered to 35t and the mech given a SFE with the same movement, ES, FF, jump jets and weapons similar to the original Clint, I wonder whether that would affect the Raven's trade success for the mech.

For a non jumping mech design , I like it.

Since I mentioned about tweaking the mech around a little, I have three options for the Clint IIC that I made using my guidelines for IIC mechs. I could also make the Clint have a simple C variant instead of a IIC variant, but for now the first option is exactly what I mentioned above. It is 35t and has the loadout of the potential C variant, but with FF/ES instead making it a basic IIC mech as it doesn't have DHSs. Also the armor level has not changed from the original IS Clint.

The second option increases the tonnage to 45t keeping the SFE, ES/FF, and adds DHSs to keep 3 ERMLs and the familiar LBX10 cool. The armor is the same as before, but with more internal structure.

And the final option returns the tonnage to 35t but has a XL engine instead to reflect the Ravens "keeping the mech up with Clan advances in technology". It keeps the same loadout of option 2, but adds an additional .5t of armor. As a IIC mech, I personally like this option the best as the Clint feels more like a heavy light mech than a light medium mech to me. However, the cheapest option would be to have a C mech or Option 1.

I know none of these choices are as good as the one you posted Karagin, but out of these, which would reflect the Clint IIC and Clan Raven nature best had it showed up in the TRO?

Um, what about it? The Uziel was created long after the Clan invasion. All canon IIC mechs are Clan upgraded Star League mechs, and virtually all canon C mechs are succession-wars tech variants of the same mechs flash-upgraded to Clan technology after being mothballed in secret bunkers for centuries. I have yet to find a canon C mech that is taken from later designs, battlefield salvage, isorla, or otherwise.

But you certainly can create a hypothetical Uziel C if you want. It will have to be experimental mixed tech for sure if you are performing such an operation in the Inner Sphere.

Anyway, after thinking about how the Raven's treated the Clint IIC when they produced it, and how it ended up as a trade mech for them, I think option 3 is the best for the mech. Being 35t with an XL engine allows the Clint IIC to be powerful in its class before Omnimechs took over. Plus, the inflated price tag would mean more resources per mech traded.

with all the "C" mechs, no one has done a H version
of the Uziel, I have two Uziel mechs in my IS battalion... Want to take a shot at it?

I think you are missing the point of "C" mechs and IIC.

I agree with Karagin here, scheinlen. Making a C or IIC version of a non-Star-League mech simply because it doesn't exist is not very accurate to the lore and more than a little silly.

When I said you could make a Uziel C, I meant there's nobody stopping you from making a custom variant mounting mixed tech weaponry on a mech, especially from battlefield salvage etc. It happens quite frequently in the 3060-3070 decade, as everyone wants to make use of Clan tech if they can get their hands on it - your unit even more so as it is Kell Hounds/WiE based. So you can certainly do that, just don't call it a C mech, and don't treat it like it can be produced in mass quantities on demand.

Also, if you have internet and a computer (or some form of flash drive), you should have the ability to use your own copy of a mech designer program to suit your needs. Here's a great site with a list of available mech designers:

Thanks, I do seem to get the proper titles to a design wrong at times. I should have asked for a "Custom" design with just Clan tech upgrades. Like I said I'm just getting back into BT after a long brake from being in "Uncle Sams travel Company (Army) and then being a traveler in the Electriclal union going from power house to power house for a while. I'm getting my papaer work back in order to do some gaming now.
Thanks again for the help and guidance.
