A custom mech I made before I joined the wiki. I just used REMLAB to make the record sheet easier to read.

The LRMs are on turrets like the Serath quad mech.

Certainly an interesting design. The speed is definitely an issue that would hinder practical applications, but the weapons and armor look like it'd be fun to try in a duel.

so they made the lrms streaks now?

I doubt the clans would make this mech. Too much ammo, not enough punch.
I didn't think the clans had hardened armor, but that is a weak spot for me. Lack of new rule books.

I understand the hardened armor would allow it to remain in the field far longer then a normal armored mech could, so I can see more ammo, but unless you are fighting like units, this is kind of overboard.

Yes I made it overboard intentionally. I mean who wouldn't want a mech with 50 tons of armor? (Well almost 50 tons)

Came in expecting an Industrial Mech made for delivering the mail in remote, rough areas. Leaving somewhat disappointed and confused.

Well, like, 16 real years ago. But, yes, they're in the game and official optional/experimental items.

AFAIK streak LRMs only exist for the Clans. They're really deadly though.

Well, no, Clan Streak LRMs are not especially deadly. All they do is avoid wasting ammo on misses (like energy weapons) and guarantee full damage on hit (like energy and ballistic weapons). They don't hit more often than conventional Clan LRMs, which can benefit from the -1 to-hit of Artemis V. Further, they don't function as Streaks in indirect fire and cannot use specialty munitions like mines, smoke, incendiaries, etc.

If you want to save ammo with a direct-fire Clan weapon that does full damage with every hit, use the Clan large pulse laser. Its -2 to-hit advantage (and targeting computer compatibility) means it outperforms Clan Streak LRMs.

It's not "all they do". Locked SLRMs hits with all of it's missiles on a successful hit except in special circumstances such as AECM and AMS.

Compared to the CLPL, the SLRMs have an advantage in heat, raw maximum damage per ton, and critting ability due to cluster delivery. It also has slight but exploitably better short and long range brackets, and of course the ability to IDF if it really really really has to. One of it's biggest advantage(and disadvantage) is that it's not a laser and so doesn't need heat sinks on vehicles, which is a distinctly huge advantage in this area.

Like ballistic and energy weapons. Streak LRMs are overcoming a disadvantage in that missile weapons don't deliver their full damage normally, unlike most other weapons in the game.

6 tons gets you 3 Streak 5s (15 base damage) or 1 large pulse laser (10 base damage). The -2 to-hit can really make a difference in damage output, especially at higher target numbers. A 10 target number is 6 times as likely to hit as a 12.

Of course, vehicles come with issues of their own, like crit vulnerability. Ask Ghostrider about transmission weight.

thread was made.
Now a down side to ammo weapons is how long the game goes on. Run out of ammo and the launcher should be allowed to be jettison for some damage... yeah right.

Now even though they don't hit more often, they don't add heat to a miss, nor do you waste the munitions by missing half of it most of the time.
It is very nice to have all the heat go to damage instead of 1/4th to 1/3 damage like a lot of my hits tend to do with missiles.

And I really hate when I have to read the stats several times to find out if it's a quad or hover tank or wheeled..
