Overview
Designed to function as an inexpensive 'understudy' to the Deschain, the Chambers was a quite efficient combat machine of its own accord.
Capabilities
The Chambers weighed in at 40 tons; the lower end of the medium class of BattleMechs. A 240-rated Fusion Engine provided speed nearly double that of the significantly larger Deschain. Armament consisted of a single ER Large Laser for long-range striking capability, supported by twin SRM-4's slaved to Artemis IV Fire Control Systems, allowing the pilot to exploit breaches in enemy armor, ideally created by the Deschain's deadly twin Gauss Rifles. Eight tons of Ferro-Fibrous armor provided the maximum possible amount of protection, and CASE was installed in the right torso to protect the pilot in the event of an ammo explosion.
Battle History
The Chambers served alongside lances of Deschains against the Word of Blake during the Jihad, serving with distinction in mop-up missions and the like, putting down damaged WoB 'Mechs quickly and efficiently after the Deschain delivered the first strike from afar.
