Somewhat off-topic as far as the UAC debate goes, but I figured I'd leave this variant here since it's the same chassis, instead of making a new thread for it. Goes in the opposite direction of the -4UP, trading a bigger AC for a heavier PPC and a more consistent 20-point shot at the cost of fire rate.

I toyed with the idea of using the PPC...I generally prefer to keep Large Lasers as Large Lasers when upgrading, but I like the way the heat and range work out.
Generally, I find that ER Large Laser + DHS + extra ton beats a PPC, but having the exact same range brackets for the UAC/10 and the PPC is a definite benefit.
The other one kinda weirds me out though...you have the UAC/5 which is all about Rate of Fire, and the HPPC/Cap which sacrifices ROF for a harder punch. Although I guess it works in a Hit-and-Run role. I'd probably prefer an extra ton of armour over the Capacitor, but it has its uses. Use a Light or XL Engine and bump the speed up a bit, and you'd have a highly effective raider.
Side note...isn't there already a medium 'Mech that uses the PPC/AC5 combo? I know the Banshee does, but I thought there was something in this size class as well...
Peace is that glorious moment in history when everyone stands around reloading.
