I bought the new Battletech Starter Set and it came with the plastic minis. I have a collection of older Ral Partha Minis. What Hex bases does anyone use with the plastics? Is there one that will fit or is anyone cutting them? It just seems they would look better with flock on a regular Hex Base. Thoughts?

They do, but they are small and many either add a normal size hex base to them or build a base for them.

I'm a bit late to this but I thought others might find this interesting:

I used to own over 300 mech minis, far too many to afford ralidium hex bases for each.

I used homemade cut hex-shaped heavy cardboard bases and spackle, sometimes dressed with model railroad grass and ground cover.

It was aesthetically pleasing, and assured orientation on the board.

it's better to get some bases to customize since some players prefer the added detail if they use say hex Terrain blocks.
