Any idea if anyone has done anything cool with this yet? I know we've yanked some of the graphics for a side-project, but that's about it. Been trying to figure out how to get at their models too, but with no luck.

The models and stuff will probaly be fun to mess around with, I really enjoyed playing Mechcommander 2 it was always fun commanding the units like it was just one big battlefield and you could move them how you wished one at a time or all at once..

I think the problem is that nobody dares to read Microsoft's code.

Otherwise, we'd see extremely ambitious reverse-engineering projects like with Jagged Alliance 2.

I figured Microsoft would do something like this. I'm sure this will satisfy all those others who griped that MC needed improvements.
Any rules I type should be considered unofficial unless stated otherwise by Precentor Martial Randall Bills and/or published Classic BattleTech products.

Well they did strip out the multiplayer code, citing that to leave it would be to allow people to reverse-engineer some potential security vulnerabilities. This is obviously somewhat of a bummer. That was where most of the fun stuff is.

What Microsoft should've done was kept the multiplayer code in the game so that players could play the single player missions as cooperative players. I don't have MechCommander 2 so I'm not going to comment for now on this message board.
Greetings to you too.
