Does anyone know how to use the aerospace fighter that you can hire in the campaign?
I have had one an several missions, and he has never done anything.

do you know how to use the lance commands? not trying to make that sound mean, just curious because that could be a problem. i forget the keys because its been so long, but u tell your lance what to do through them.

there is supposed to be a key combo that calls the aerospace fighters in for an attack run though i often had trouble getting it to work correctly.

It was...alt+x, was it not? Wow, it's been so long! But soon, soon I will build a '98 box so I can play MW2 again. 
alt+x, I'm pretty sure it was. You have to target an enemy or building or whatnot, and hit alt+x to summon an aerofighter strike. They take a while though.
It's when you start wishing you had a cool sig that you come up with something this bad...

Yeah, it as Alt-X... Too bad they left that out of the newer games... In place of the artillery beacon in MW4, I think I much rather have seen fighters streaking toward and ripping a target...
