Do you guys want me to update anything on the site?
Or leave it how it is?

I just did a huge update to the file archive and now there's tons more stuff I could include on the site, but I don't know if anyone really uses it much more or not.

I guess it comes down to - is it worth my time to update this stuff or do you guys really not care?

Nic, you do what you need to do. If your too busy don't worry about it. If you have the time then go ahead. I still love to come to drop by here, but work has been crazy so I haven't had much time for Battletech..... Oh well, I will still browse and post as soon as I get time.

I care! Updating from time to time is good, and then updates don't have to be massive ones or you could wait and do large ones. Gives us something to look forward to.

Indeed. Whatever works best, even if that's none, is OK.

Of course, we'd prefer updates.

Its probably a good idea to find out which links are still good or moved. That is where the members of this board come in. I haven't seen much else needed to be updated for the moment.

>>but I don't know if anyone really uses it much more or not.<<

Considering the number of "lurker" members, I would assume that there are a lot of people accessing various parts of the site (otherwise why would they join and then never post anything????)

I have seen a few requests from people who want areas like the 'Mech submission page updated...if you don't feel like actually updating the "approved" list, maybe add a notice that the submission list is not going to be updated...either that or remove the submission feature entirely.

I love having this site here, and in my opinion, as long as the old stuff is still accesable, then add anything you want!

Whatever new updates you make to the site should be of a nature that the site essentially becomes able to update itself, in a way. More specifically:

1) The ability to comment on a file in the file archive, as well as read the comments of others. I don't know what 90% of those files are for.

2) The ability to report on links in the link section as well as automatically add new ones.

3) The granting of forum members and other personal friends that you trust deeply to also work on the website with you. Perhaps start by allowing those who are already forum moderators to administer to the website.

Sarna.net will always be associated with the word "BattleTech" in my mind, and I hope that it always will be forever more.

I think this sites running quite good. New features would probably attract more members, but overall, I'm quite happy with this.
