Low-budget minis

Ok, not exactly low-budget, but the same idea, kinda. I was just told by the owner of the gaming store here that he will most likely be able to stock IWM minis (still no word yet about CBT items
). However, there are no hobby stores on the island that I know of (well, there's one that caters to those mini RC car racer guys, but that's about it). I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what I could use to put minis together that I could get at, say, Ace Hardware.
