Can anybody please advise where I may be able to find an updateable JPEG image of all the planets in Battle Tech? I found a PDF formated star map, however I do not have Adobe Acrobat, and the document is protected so I cannot update it even if I did. I intend to run a major campaign for a few friends, and I need the map to keep track of all the stars that change hands (I intend to start in 3025 and see if history repeats itself).

Better use the old planet locator (something like that anyway). It used to be findable in the files section of this server, dunno if it still is.

Thanks for the information, however when I install the program, and try to run it, I get the following error

Run-Time Error '399':

Component 'Threed32.ocx' not correctly registered: file is missing or invalid.

There is no file by thta name in the Zip file.

IIRC one needed a library for all the coders programs but am not sure, it's still made for 3.1 or 95 after all. Don't recall wich one tho maybe someone else does?
Visual basic or so.

I found a copy of the required file by searching the net. First place I found it wanted money for it, second place allowed me to download it for free.

Thanks for the help. It is not quite what I was looking for, however I can use this to create the required JPEG file.

They have a list of various OCX files, just go down the list until you find the one you need.

If you get a "missing threed32.ocx" error then you use a newer version of Visual Basic on your computer that does not support some of the older controls in previous versions of VB. Unzip this file into your windows system directory, click START, RUN and then type "REGSVR32.EXE /C THREED32.OCX" into the dialog box. That should make the program work correctly. It worked for me. For further directions from IBM, click

and as for where to get map programs i have a yahoo group with both the Planetary locator and the harder to find Comtek Interstellar Cartographic Corps. Star Charts both are good mapping programs and there are lots of other programs there to ... check my group out http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/hyperpulse_generator/ and my bigger yahoo group http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/Battletech_mechwarriors/ enjoy and I hope the "missing threed32.ocx" error fix works for you ... it did for me.
