Just a idea for a possible adventure set in the old Star League, opions and suggestions welcomed I tried to stay near canon in aspect of the design with out to drastic of a change to the base line Black Lion.

==Overview:==
The Black Lion battlecruiser entered service with the SLDF in 2691.
Although it weighed slightly more than 800,000 tons, the Black Lion could out
maneuver most transports and was capable of 2.5 Gs of acceleration. However,
the size and complexity of the Black Lion's drive system made it very
difficult to maintain, which reduced the vessel's military value somewhat.
Despite that shortcoming, the Black Lion's superior speed, armaments and
armor made them a popular choice to head naval battle groups. Although the
Black Lion's lack of energy weapons has often been cited as a weakness, the
vessel proved quite effective during the Reunification War and later during
Kerensky's liberation of Terra. Despite these successes, the Black Lion
remained vulnerable to fighter attack like most WarShips, and many were
destroyed during the long campaign. In fact, less than a dozen Black Lion
Class WarShips survived to accompany the Exodus fleet.
Several Black Lions have been observed in the Inner Sphere, operating as
Galaxy flagships. These Clan versions have been modified with hull-sealant
units, lithium-fusion battery systems, and Lamellor ferro-carbide armor. Most
Clan Lions replace the three-fighter squadrons carried by the Star League
variant with two Stars of OmniFighters.
This variant of the Black Lion was reputed to be in service of the Star
League in limited numbers supposedly in a special unit known as the Storm
Guard, little is known of the Storm Guard or its exact numbers during the
heyday and or fall of the Star League, what little is known of the unit is
that it specialized at quick reaction missions to stamp out possible hot spots
in the Star Leagues domain and to help the relative fragile peace that existed
in the League and its member nations, the last known sighting of any Storm
Guard units was in the System of Terra during the first day of the Amaris
Coup, engaging Capser Defense Drones and trying desperately to support the
Black Watch Royal Guard from orbit, during the last hours of both units
existence.
==Capabilities:==
The Storm Guard variant of the Black Lion differs little from the standard
type with the following exceptions. Armor was replaced with LFC type in order
to provide greater protection, White Shark and Barracuda Cap Missile Launchers
was increased, ammo storage bins for the ships NAC's was slightly increased, a
suite of AF/AM weapons was incorporated into the design to provide still
further protection for the design against the increasing threat posed by newer
models of Fighters and Drop ships, to further increase the ships protection
from fighters and drop ships the fighter compliment of the design was
increased from 18 to 24 fighters which proved to be a devastating surprise for
enemy forces engaging this new variant, but with any improvements there is a
cost and this came in the form of the lost cargo capacity dropping from 62,000
tons to 50,000 tons. The loss in cargo capacity though is more than offset by
the designs improved capabilities.
