Mechbays/Depots

Mech Depot (or call them Mechbays, if you want .....) 150 CF for all Research Requirements: 150 CF Light Mech Depot: 2000 RP Medium Mech Depot: 4000 RP Heavy Mech Depot: 8000 RP Assault Mech Depot: 12000 RP
DP cost would be up to the Admins, I am not EVEN gonna try to suggest costs.
Each constructed Mech Depot can only hold one lance of mechs of the respective size. Mechs put in Depot are at half maintenance rate. Pilots of those mechs become unassigned and suffer the same reputation loss as scrapping the mech. Re-commissioning the mech will result in double the training time required for vehicles. De-commissioning AND Re-commissioning both cost 10 times the normal daily mobilization cost for the mechs. Upgraded mechs can be put in a Depot, but are returned to base configuration, no financial recompense. After one Nevyear in the Depot, cost to maintain it there is reduced due to mothballing, and maintenance is set to 10% of normal daily maintenance rate. Unless the Player chooses to maintain at the higher maintenance rate. One Nevmonth warning will be given before auto-mothballing, or the player can select ‘Never Mothball’ upon initially storing the mech(s). After 10 Nevyears, the mech must be placed on the market for sale, or re-commisioned. Players will be notified by a warning 1 nevmonth prior. Failure will result in scrapping of the mech automatically. Re-commissioning from mothball status will require one Nevmonth time in ‘(re)commissioning’ status per size category of the mech, followed by training for the pilot. During the ‘(re)commissioning’ period, the mech will incur full mobilization cost. Capture of in-tact Depots would result in a 100% chance per mech to capture the mech. Damage to Depots would result in 50% for all mechs in that Depot. Detroying a Depot would result in scrapping as well.
Please add post with additional suggestions. Yes, I know the admins have a ton of things in the works, but I thought this would be a good addition, with the proper tweaking.

No. Adds nothing to the game. Possible money sink. Increase in RP prerequisites. Admins have other things to do that will never get done. Neveron is not AoW.
Don't Support it.

no no no no no. This would not add anything to the game, except opportunities for abuse., and would use time better spent on things that are good, like class levels.

Amen. I find it to be distracting from other changes that would actually do something.

This was something I thought of, not the Admins. Seems to me it would be nice to be able to decommision mechs and move pilots around, but hey, what the hell do I know? Only been playing for a few years.......
Kas, you can blow me, you think because you know AI has neg funds that I am open to the idea of scheming to do something about it. If you think like that then obviously you need to get your mind right Don't think you know me because you know other people that cheat and ruin the game.
I already said I know the Admins have much still to do on current things. (ex: Class Levels) This was not intended to be a soon thing, hence why I wanted POSITIVE feedback.
I wanted helpful suggestions, not just naysayers that hate change, and won't look at the positive side. If you wouldn't want to be able to swap a -1/-1 Locust pilot with a 2/2 IMP pilot...........(yeah, sure you can wait for IMPs to drop onto the market at 700 million each, go ahead)

If you can't take bad opinions, don't take opinions at all. I do not dislike change. Look at my previous posts. I agree with a lot of ideas. I even present new ones. Why would I dislike change? I really do believe that your idea will not really be accepted. I appreciate your enthusiasim and your ideas, and I encourage you to continue subbmitting ideas. However, do not take out your anger of not having every idea accepted out on the users who are only expressing their opinion.
Trust me. Almost every one of my ideas has been rejected by the playerbase. (See Ammo Packet Infantry). I don't flame at them. Just take it and continue thinking.

Think up a solution to obvious flaws pointed out before judging people against your ideas.

Solution? Don't need a solution its not needed, period. Just looks like a way you can populate your armory with mechs and not pay the maint costs.

That would result in some stockpiling, but with a few months the market would fill again as everyone has a spare army. The idea mothballing a company of mechs isn't too bad, as long as it takes a nevmonth or 2 to take them out again.
But the 100% capture is just cheating waiting to happen.

Or you can scrap that Locust, the pilot goes unassigned and into your pool of soldiers.. then find the cheapest pice of crap mech on the market.. makesure the IMP pilot is your active person... goto the mech market makesure you select the radio button for your pilot rather than Empire, but that piece of crap mech.. and unless you already have an unassigned soldier better than the locust pilot you now have a 0/0 IMP and you know he will with a little effort skilldown to -1/-1. and a 3/3 in something else that will train to 2/2. So no messy waiting for an IMP for 1.1 Billion to appear on the market.
