What if there were a lottery system? I always got a kick out of the gambling aspects of some of these online games, what if we were to implement something like that?
Or maybe some kind of a stock-market system. Some way to invest into world-economics, and have your income based on that. That way, when nations start getting attacked, and resources start getting used up, it affects everybody.
I know it would be a huge amount of coding. lol and for all i know there already is a system like it

stock market has been suggested many times. it would be incredibly hard to code in unless it had nothing to do with any empires in the game.
a lottery would be easy to do as its just a RNG roll at the end of the month/day/week

years be ruined by idiotic ideas. id rather leave and have good memories.

Well, a stock market wouldn't necessarily be unbelievably difficult; since there are different resources, you'd have to queue up a database to tally the number of purchases and uses for particular resources, and just base an economic scale on those tallies, and how they change day to day. Plot out a scale; jumps of 1-3% yield +500 per stock, 4-6% yield + 700 per stock, dives of 1-3% take off 300 off the value of the stock, 4-6% take off 500, that kinda deal. You could even run negative stocks, where plummeting resources can actually take money away from someone.
You buy the stocks at whatever price they're at when you choose to buy them, and you sell them later at the best possible time, would make for an interesting game.
But then you'd probably start running into resources that are always high payouts. I dunno! This was primarily a lottery thread. lol

swiss system, you should pay for the privilege to be able to store that kind of money.
'No intrest, since it would only serve to add inflation. Also, currently time you have been active translates in a severe advantage to a newbie already, intrest would magnify that.

The light 'mechs are around the price they have to be to be profitable to be produced. The mediums will probably eventualy end up at 100 mill, heavies 200 and assaults 500 mill.
It is a lot, especially for starters. I see no easy sollution to that problem. In general I'd say use tanks instead at lower level, if possible augumented with a light otherwise a sensor tank.
People not only buy IDF, it is a powerfull tool but not for every situation. As in cbt, use combined arms and you have a really good chance to prevail over others.
(edit) I was more saying, intret is nice, but atm, there is too much cash in the system (according to the admins, and I can see their point). But 'mech prices will not fall, as at this level they are about profitable. (/edit)

Well, you started playingat that time tho eh?
New incarnation is coming tho, http://www.battletech.nl/nieuws/index.php?id=115&lan=nl
I wouldn't call cbt lvl 2+ rules fair and unabusable tho, try an augumented lance of 4 chapperals combined with a cplt-c5 and a SYU-2B, combined with a reg of unaromoured infanrty and a platoon of Fa Shih with TAG's., comes in at less than 8 kbv with ordinary skills.
And homing Arrow IV. A lot of non-über munch will be defeated handilly by that. Or the old TC-LPL combo. Or C3 with loads of LRM's. (As long as the other forgot ECM, he's toast.)
Nev just has other power combinations (sweetly upgraded, or loads of snipers, etc)

yeah i started when they didnt even have a tech book or even minis just these shitty paper mechs yesh all we had was a boxed set and punch outs for buildings etc. now well books books and more books and the option of lvl1-2-3 rules and of course the cheese max tech book. my cbt group builds our own 3d terrain and we use and mod the mechwarrior line of figures now talk about a retarted game system that one takes the cake.
