So yeah, its like 5amishsomethingorother and i cant sleep, so while sitting here drooling i had this wacky crazy idea, and i figure hey i cant sleep lets dick with the admin some. Soooooo here is my suggestion. When players first login to a empire each day, on the empire selection menu, we get a little box that has say like 10 options in it for game improvement. Players can then select what area they would like to see improvement into. Now i totally understand that the admins have their own vision, view whatever of the game, and what direction it should go. But i also think their is a ton of room to meet players half way on some things that can vastly improve not only the game, but make people feel like tehy actually have some very valuable input into what direction the game continues in. I also understand these things wouldnt be the main focus of admin, but more like pet projects for them to work on when burnt out on other projects. I have seen this done in a few other games, in betas so the delevopers have a better feel for their player base over all, not just teh more vocal players. This could be a way for the admin to reach every player in the game, and get real honest feedback into what the players are really thinking, wanting, and i honestly think that some very cool creative things can come from a system if setup correctly.
And hey if nothing else, at the end of each month, maybe you can post what factions vote which way, so we have yet another reason to kill people over(<--ZOME AWESOME REASON TO PUT IN GAME!!!).

Actually randy and ww have often asked for the player bases suggestion on ideas. The real problem was getting a unbiased poll of enough players. And while i admit something like this would have its limitations, its a HUGE step beyond what we have now. This would enable the admin to get suggestive feedback from every empire in the game. Their are probly things that level 1 empires deem OMG important that most of us never even consider, if this saves even a small % of those players from leaving the game then its a VERY worthwhile idea. And something like this will only come about if EVERYONE in nev puts their support in behind it, so that the admin CANT ignore it. So the question really is are WE the players willing to put in the work to get this added in game or not. I know ill be telling everyone in HoC to read and /sign this post if they agree with it. And everyone in main chat, and nevmail. Love me or hate me, but people do tend to listen when i say something :P

I like the general idea. It would be nice if Neveron Admin would take the time to understand what the players would like to see. One thought, could we also included some of the projects that are not completed in order to find out what we like and what we would like complete.

sounds like a good idea to me. But if the admins get to control what we are polled on our voices my never be heard anyway. So there would need to be player input as to what the poll would contain.
Or maybe not

Q1. Do you want us to finish all current projects we have started and not finished?

I agree. Even though the game is the creation of the admins. The ultimate goal should be to provide its players with the best possible enjoyment factor designed around the games concept. You cannot have that unless you have input from its players. I am a professional developer of business applications and the development ALWAYS takes into account ideas and feedback from its potential users. Neveron does do that to some degree but needs to do a much better job. Putting a poll upon login so that each empire has a vote is definately a step in the right direction but somehow I have strong doubts that the admins would do or use something like this successfully. I believe they get an idea and develop an approach to implementation too quickly. I'd like to know how many known bugs there are per 1000 lines of code. I bet the number is higher than average.

Yeah, I like it. Too bad it won't happen or matter if it does, but I like it. But the Admins still get to pick the 10 options {topics} for inprovement, so it's still admin's ball. 9 options and a box to show a vote of No Confidence in the admins may work better. Still not likely to get anything accomplished, but at least they'd know when they schmucked something up.
