With the changes being implemented I believe it is time to revisit the idea of how it is a military is supposed to be supported by it's population. While a military should be a function of a population we are approaching a great change in the game. While I do see how using Support Points is a much better option than having bv or some other arbitrary value decide OMT or what have you, we need to have this retooled. As we are being limited by the raw number units we can have, I suggest that perhaps we can have a corresponding drop in SP of up to 5% for every unit limit reduction. While I understand that this will not be too great of a comprimise, It will help us keep up the pace and not become overly weak. If in the end we will all have nearly mech-only armies, I welcome it. However if we are to have large armies consisting of nearly all mechs, we definately will have to have a much lower cost SP-wise in order to support them. Perhaps we could have SP based on how much population we have? A larger citizenry would definately neccessitate a larger military. I just wanted to through this out and see if anyone has thought about it.
