Hey Guys,

This is just something I've been playing around with. The other night I was thinking to myself, "I haven't built anything around an AC/5 in a while, and I haven't built any 40 tonners lately...let's see what we can do!" It's far from perfect, but I like it. I tested it against a BJ-1 and it did okay, although the fight was close.

I'll write up some fluff later. As always, any thoughts, suggestions, or blatent hatred are equally wanted and enjoyed!

That's an interesting L1 mech. It feels like a lower tech Vindicator for some reason - trade out the PPC for an AC/5.

By L1 standards, that would be a solid workhorse 'mech. It has relatively thick armor and good short range firepower. It wouldn't do bad side-by-side with a Panther or Centurion.

Good point Cray, but it seems to be closer in weapons to the Shadow Hawk. Which makes one wonder if some mechs wouldn't be better at a lower tonnage then what they are at.

Over all it's a good mech and one that I can see some planetary milita groups going with as well as some merc units.

Good "realistic" design from a RP standpoint too...AC/5s and ML were everywhere in the IS circa 3025...IIRC SRM 4s may have been a bit less common, but still not unusual. Any of the houses could have fielded large numbers of these, and slow speed (read:small engine) keeps the cost low enough for independents, Periphery states, and mercs to be able to afford them.

Lemme see...L2 refit...FF armour (1 ton less for similar coverage) swap SRM for a Streak 2, up AC to a UAC/5. That add up right? Or maybe use a LB-5X and upgrade 1 ML to a pulse... Should leave 1/2 ton either way to do something inventive...

Dammit, now you got me thinking again!
