You start thinking about things you always wanted to know, but never dared to ask :-) A mech kicking or punching infantry does damage alright. But how much damage exactly? It is obviously different from cbt, as damage is not fixed by mech tonnage, but seemingly some kind of roll. So if a mech kicks for 10 points of damage, that attack would do 1-10 points of damage to infantry. Throw in the usual modifiers for terrain, and that is the damage done.
