Overview:
The kyudo Battlemech was built midway through JF invasion of
combine space, based upon data to be had at the time and several
inventive engineers, this design that takes much of its appearance
from the Vulture Battlemech masses in at a solid 100 tons. Built and
armed with mainly Magna series equipment it performed well as its
role of rapid target removal, carrying primarily armor piercing
rounds and fragmentary style SRMs for up close punch. [HARD
RETURN]While few units were produced, no more then company’s worth;
the mech proved the design was stable if a little underrated and
under armed compared to other House mechs of the era. Nodding to the
design that inspired it, this mech has the same reverse joint legs
and sloping angular body section, though the Kyudo’s armor scheme was
more rounded and smooth lines then the rugged block of the Clanner
mech.
Mid design a light fusion engine was chosen to provide sufficient
room in the torso for the LRM racks as well as the movement systems
to protect the launchers under flip up panels. Both a Imperator ac5
and ac2 class auto cannon were chosen due to the viability of the
parts and the weapons longstanding credibility aside from
manufacturers affiliation. Lower end PPC’s were chosen to round out
the weapons package, ‘last generation’ units used that while not as
powerful as some currently fielded PPCs, still perform adequately for
their role.
Cost wise and build wise the design was fairly cheap, just over
20million and due to the standardized build of the legs and internal
systems, currently existing parts could be used with little trouble
when it came to repair or refitting. The mechs general performance
was easily comparable at medium and close range to many other assault
mechs of the time, however its long and extreme range suffered from
the limitations of the missile systems and the auto cannon’s.[HARD
RETURN]Limiting the mechs performance is a low load count for the
missile weaponry, and limited re-supply for the secondary
autocannon2. Movement is average as well for assault, neither front
of the line speed nor as slow as some designs. Internally the mech
has sufficient heat sinks to survive an alpha strike and its armor,
standard Durallex was chosen again for terms of availably. Production
numbers remained small as the conflict escalated, putting this design
on the shelf in favor of building pre existing mecha and salvage.
Speaking generally the mech was a sufficient design that had
combat potential but as the times changed the design saw little use
and little advancement, the few units built and still in functioning
state, used mainly as parade mechs to show an example of the combines
talent during a dangerous era.

Capabilities:
The Battlemech’s capabilities were intended to be mobile
aggressor and fire support platform; fitting the midrange role with
its auto cannons and PPCs, missile batteries were used for long range
target painting, though limited by low ammunition count. [HARD
RETURN]Within close distance though the mechs SRM and Autocannon’s
were well used to rapidly disable a opposing mech while a few well
placed PPC shots rendered the opponent out.
Extended campaigns, depending on the skill of the pilot would
leave the mech relying heavily on its PPCS or on the AC/5, saving the
range for the AC/2 when the missiles could be used to assist.

Deployment:
Roughly 12 battlemechs.

Battle History:
Luthien.

Known Variants:
None, though a lighter design that traded the PPCS for another
AC/5 instead of the AC/2 and Medium lasers was planned out though
never built, this version also was designed to carry jump jets.

That, my friend, is html formatting. Since it is disabled for this forum it doesn't paste across all that well at times.

Thought the Smoke Jaguars were mostly invading Combine, and the Jade Falcons were harrassing the FedComs. just a minor point. interesting mech, though
