All of the buttons display "undefined string" and I haven't been able to connect with the client for some time.

when you want to use chat, go to this link instead. Save this link in your browser favorites.
www.afternet.org
Once you get there, simply click 'chat now' in the left side menu
This will open a different IrcClient than the one currently in use by the Neveron link.
All the undefined errors will go away
if you would like the window larger, simply click the maximize window symbol in upper right corner and the chat window will open in a seperate window, which can then be adjusted to the size you prefer including full screen, or minimized.
to join any channel, simply type /join #channel_name_here
ie /join #neveron_newbies
hopefully this helps you and anyone else who is having similar issues with chat
