Wow, two posts from me in one night! Anyway, because of how mediocre the Forge was, I decided a rebuild was in order. The chassis stays the same, as does the engine, armor tonnage, and number of heatsinks. If you read the fluff, you'll see why. Anyway, I look forward to hearing all of your suggestions, comments, or even blatant hatred. Enjoy!

==Overview:==
3053 was not a good year for Kater and Kater Mech Foundries. Their second
commercial venture in mech production, the Forge, was a complete commercial
failure. At best, critics hailed the mech as mediocre; at worst, a complete
waste of technology, time, and money. Investors were beginning to pull
funding, the company's value was plummeting, and the twins themselves were
viewed as complete idiots. The Kater twins we desperate for a success, and
fast. Unfortunately, all of their resources had been poured into the
development of the Forge, and without the money needed to develop a new mech,
it looked like the company would be forced to fold. One night, heavily
intoxicated, an idea struck the brothers. Why not take an existing Forge's
chassis, strip the machine, give it a makeover, and change the name? It was a
long shot, but the twins decided it was their only chance. Four months later,
the Hobbit debuted.

==Capabilities:==
The Hobbit, unlike its predecessor, is a mech with purpose. Designed purely
as a medium to short range brawler, the mech was more than adequate for the
task. Primary weaponry could be found in a brace of Large Lasers mounted upon
two, fully articulated arms. These are supported at closer range by a brace
of Medium lasers mounted into the torsos of the mech, alongside a pair of
two-tube SRMs. Although the overall firepower of the mech is reduced compared
to the Forge, the cheap, balanced, easy to maintain weaponry make it a very
effective machine. Although not the fastest mech in its weight class, the 9.5
tons of Durallex armor more than make up for its sluggishness.

Although the stature of the Hobbit is almost identical to the Forge, the two
machines look nothing like each other. Where the original was a fairly plain
and unassuming mech, the Hobbit has a much more aggressive appearance. Lines
that were soft are replaced by ones that are sharp and bold. In fact, the
entire chassis was beefed up to give it a more impressive appearance and
further differentiate it from the original.

==Battle History:==
None to date.

==Variants:==
None

==Deployment==
As of a year and a half after its debut, a total of six of these machines have been built and sold. For
reasons unknown, the buyers have yet to be disclosed. Regardless, the mech is viewed as a commercial success, especially compared to the complete failure that was the Forge.

Sexy! and my god Hobbit! I'd pilot one just for the humor factor, and tonnage/fluff aside, twin LLas and twin MDlas are nothing to laugh at, specially when the mech can handle the heat flux well emough.
Greetings Mechwarrior.
