The end?
      #143259 - 01/14/07 05:20 AM (85.16.184.239)

Heavy artilery and fires lightened the night over the southern hills. Westwood's defence forces were in battle with the forces of Gunshot To The Head Of Trepidation of [TR{HoC}]. Cluster watched the lights and listened to the thunder. "Many men will die to night", came into his mind. But deep insight he knew that this weren't his men anymore. He had none. "Westwood will die in the fire that i called apon it", wispered Cluster into the lonely night. A last watch to the southern hills with the fiery touched sky. Then Cluster turned his sight to the star clad space above. "Only imagination limits our possibilties!" This words came aloud from his lips. With these he headed towards his small landing craft to leave this dying world behind.

The first wave of Gunshots attacks has ceased. In the central valley Tech crews and militia working fervently to reload defensetowers and weld patches on cratered armour. At a group of hills to the south most fires died down but the carcasses of two ontos are still glowing in a gloomy red. Some lighter vehicles are already cool enough to approach them without danger. Techs are cuting them open for MedTech crews to recover the bodies of valorous HoC guardian crews who died in last nights probing assault on Westwoods defenses. A view that is much to common nowadays on neveron, where lives and vehicles are cheap. Only the small elite of experienced Mechpilotes and their enormous war machines are kept in relative safety, until waves after wave of tanks softened up the enemy.

The scout who was watching this scene from one of the many small peaks in the north of Westwood provides a direct video feed to the field Headquarter of SAMC, a few clicks away, where Tai-sa sdog is briefing his lance commanders.

A CommTech approaches, salutes and waits for Lt. Kaykyo to finish his sentence.
"Sir, a depeche from HoC command."
sdog takes the message "Thank you corporal" and reads it. "Gentlemen, our request to finish this war without involvement by third parties was granted. Gunshot was asked to refrain from further attacks.
We can continue, we fought many wars on the same side as Westwood, lets give their warriors a honourable end. Akashi, you will take my left flank, Saviely right." Loud to all, "Mount the mechs!"

As SAMC's mechs climb the last ridge before Westwood a single Banshee with lowered arms and opened hatch comes into view. The mechs form a line alogn the ridge, only one assault mech approaches slowly the Banshee and stops about 90 meters before it. The clumsy AWS manages to hint a bow towards the banshee. "This is Tai-sa sdog of SAMC, factionleader of the Legion faction IZW-3. I have defeated 3 mechs in personal fights." The man siting on the head replies, his voice is amplified by his mech "I'm commanding officer of Westwoods Mech Company, Tai-sa sdog we challenge your first company for a battle. But grant us some time to evacuate wounded and civilians first."

"I agree, the battle will be on Tuesday evening."

Cluster, ex mastermind of Westwood, floated under the zero g conditions while browsing the last messages from the battle field. Westwood's captial is no more. Burning ruins, thousands of homeless and injured people. Choas is what he lefts behind.
The central command slain in a pride but stupid last fight left the troopers without orders in field. There was no organized defence but Cluster was surprised how long it took them to claim victory for their side.

Anyway all is gone.

Three gongs ran through the ship. The last signal before the jump. And so all are gone.
