------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ==Overview:== As the Blakist Jihad spreak across the Inner Sphere, hundreds of worlds were suddenly under siege. Decades of incessant warfare had drained many worlds of their military resources.
As the need for new mechs became critical, Clan Diamond Shark initiated a building program to produce a series of cheap, but effective mechs, much as they had done with the Ha-Otoko and the Mad Cat II.
==Capabilities:== The first of the new range of machines was the Pitbull. Based on the popular Mad Dog chassis, the Pitbull retains much of its distinctive shape, though the torso and cockpit are significantly different.
Named for the tenacious canine, the Pitbull is a very rugged design, capable of serving equally effectively as a garrison and as an attack mech. It carries a versatile array of weapons suitable for a wide range of opponents.
The Pitbul is very durable and tough, ferro-fibrous armour gives the Pitbull a maximum of protectionn while the conventional engine, though quite heavy is far less suceptible to torso damage. Limited to about 62kph, the Pitbull is somewhat slow compared to more advanced designs, but it carries highly effective jump jets, allowing it to cross difficult terrain and maneuver itself into a superior position.
The Pitbull's arsenal is varied, mounding an ER Large Laser and an LRM 20 for long range work, and a pair of lasers and an SRM6 as a short range punch. A pair of machineguns complete the set, giving the Pitbull some anti-infantry capability.
14 double strength heat sinks allow the pilot to keep the heat level quite manageable, even if it can still go into the red if it dares to alpha-strike an enemy.
==Battle History:== Pitbulls served with most Inner Sphere forces, some even ending up in the hands of Blakist forces.
Reasonably cheap and produced in large numbers, it became popular with many units. Despite several claims Devlin Stone never made use of a Pitbull.
Well-armed and armoured, the Pitbull was quite capable of standing up to most Inner Sphere opponents in single combat and in the hands of a skilled pilot they could sometimes even challenge assault mechs.
==Variants:== Few variants of the Pitbull were produced. One version replaced the machineguns with flamethrowers and another reduced the missile launchers upgrading the lasers to pulse technology.

Like the fluff, the mech is decent and seems to be able to hold it's own.
