------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ==Overview:== The Headhunter is a derivate of one of House Marik's oldest signature mechs, the Hermes II.
==Capabilities:== Designed round the powerful new Light Gauss Rifle, the Headhunter is designed for long range combat. Designers used an enlarged chassis which could accomodate the gauss rifle and mount heavier armour as per the original design requirements.
Able to reach speeds of almost 98kph, the Headhunter can keep almost any mech at arm's reach. Two tons of ammo means that the Headhunter can keep up its fire long after other mechs have withdrawn to resupply. This feature makes it a useful raider, a task usually assigned to mechs with a majority of energy weapons.
The Headhunter also mounts an improved version of the sophisticated Irian E.A.R. communications system found on the Hermes II, making it a suitable command mech of Marik medium lances. The new system uses several small pods mounted on the torso, replacing the older thread system that covered the Hermes II's body. The pods are vaguely skull shaped, giving the Mechs its name.
The addition of an ECM system further increases the Headhunter's usefulness, providing a protective umbrella against advanced targeting systems.
If the Headhunter has one weakness it is its high cost. Much more expensive than the Hermes II it is merely designed to supplement the Hermes, rather than replace it.
==Battle History:== The Headhunter was first introduced on a limited basis in 3063, replacing Hermes II mechs in several hand-picked units. Initial reports were more than positive though the Headhunter has yet to see major combat.
==Variants:== At least one former Hermes II pilot requested that one of his lasers be switched to a flamer. Irian is considering making it an official variant in limited numbers.
==Deployment== Nearly 75 Headhunters have been produced to far, about a third have been purchased by the Word of Blake forces, the rest has been assigned to various elite formations. The mech is not being sold to other nations for the time being.

Nice crossovers in the fluff. This one could be a nice upgrade to anyone's forces.
One question given the FWL bent to this would it be seen in the forces of the WoB?
