==Overview:==
Built to meet the needs of the Inner Sphere in the fighting against the Clans, the Broadside was built to give a massive salvo of firepower in a compact and relatively cheap frame.

The Broadside was able to reach the hands of both Fed-Com and Combine warriors in Operation Bulldog.

The mech was in combat from the get go, as several lance of these begin the drive to push back the Smoke Jaguars on several planets during the first wave of the attacks.

==Capabilities:==
The ablitiy to bring to bare awesome firepower at range give the Broadside a large advantage over other mechs in the firesupport grouping.

The StarFire 15 are well know for their accurrcey and tied into a SureShot Artiems IV system they are even better. The two Falcon Heavy large laser (ER) round out the long range firepower of the Broadside. The Diverse Optics ER mediums add their potent hitting power and can keep those pesky Elementals at bay long enough for the pilot to bring the two Falcon Heavies to help drive them off.

==Battle History:==
The Broadside saw extestive use during all phases of Operation Bulldog.

==Variants:==
None at this time but Bodie Industries is know to be reviewing battle roms from the fighting during Operation Bulldog and there yet may be a newer version of the Broadside in the works.

==Deployment==
In use with the Fed-Com Military and the DCMS forces.

That is the idea behind the name, it get's in range and unloads with all it's guns...hence the name...

For me, the name is the icing on the cake!
A Broadside must have either manyMedium Lasers, SRMs or LRMs--and this sure delivers! ;)

Hmm. Fairly solid design. I would be tempted to downgrade the large lasers to standards to even out it's heat curve a little though, and I'd probably also pull the A4 for two more tons of armor since these days in most lance on lance or larger fights I tend to face a lot of ECM. I'd probably also centralise the ammo bin in a side torso with CASE, since that would accomplish much for this designs survivability.

Something like:

Technology Base: - Inner Sphere - Level 2
Equipment Mass
Internal Structure: - EndoSteel 4
Engine: 300 19
Walking MP: 4
Running MP: 6
Jumping MP: 0
Heat Sinks: 13(26) - Double 3
Gyro: 3
Cockpit: 3
Armor Factor: 224 - Ferro-Fibrous 12.5

Internal Armor
Structure Value
Head 3 9
Center Torso 23 34
Center Torso(rear) 11
R/L Torso 16 24
R/L Torso(rear) 8
R/L Arm 12 24
R/L Leg 16 29

Weapons and Ammo Location Critical Tonnage
Large Laser LA 2 5
LRM 15 LT 3 7
LRM 15 Ammo LT 4 4
CASE LT 1 0.5
LRM 15 RT 3 7
Large Laser RA 2 5
ER Medium Laser CT 1 1
ER Medium Laser CT 1 1

Cost: 7,617,750
BV:1,432

Knocks about 700,000 C-bills off the design while giving it another 140 or so BV.

Interesting...I do like it and it still retains the firepower of the original, without to much cost in the long run, now this is some thing I can add into the variants and such...

Perhaps as an older lower tech version or one being sold for export.

Excellent idea and suggestion...actually sounds like something that would be done in the Inner Sphere.
