I got the idea for this mech after reading an old and chessy sci-fi novel written back in 1953. The story had two armies fighting for a planet and they used four legged walkers that had engery weapons and missiles. Atomic powered and the engery weapons were akin to super PPCs since what every they hit would melt. It was a fun read. Title was Warrior of Delria V.
So here is my take on the main walker of the Trevlatra (hey don't ask me how to say it) Army.

Be an interesting Level 1 mech. Dropping the BAP, and going down to 4/6 standard, would free up enough tonnage for a few more sinks--needed for L1.
If it stays L2, though...you have *way* more sinks than you need. And I hate to see an engine over 300, even if it *is* XL.
Other than that, my kind of mech: PPC, LRM 5s, and close-in lasers.

I have to agree with most of the assertions of NathanKell back in the day....
Dropping it to 5/8, Removing the Probe reduces the cost of 'Mech by over 50%... Beef up the two Backup Lasers to ER Models, and only have the 10 Double Sinks, but switch up to Ferro Fibe.... At which point, you're a stable Long Range Firing Platform, with 20 Armour all Around (23 on the CT)...
Its still moving a respectable 5/8 - Thats 50km/h backwards as you Bombard your Enemy into Oblivion...
Now, I know these don't mean much at the moment - and that the whole BV system will change with the new Book - but the Variant as I've stated, has a Slightly Higher BV at 1,147, if that factors into any of your choices...
I'd even personally toyed with the idea of making those changes, then dropping the PPC to a Large Laser, and then throwing the whole Chassis down a notch to 50 tons... (which is a cost of 4.4 mil, a BV of 1,116 and a half-ton of armour more overall)
Sorry to go so radical on your design... I got a little carried away there...
