------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
First built after the Invasion of the Inner Sphere, the Desert Stalker is
named after a species of desert scorpion that will sting and pursue any prey
that comes near, even creatures many times its size.

==Capabilities:==
Built by Clan Goliath Scorpion as a Heavy Attack Mech it was originally
conceived as a testbed for a new Omnimech, but the need for a powerful strike
mech, held designers back, who felt that a finely tuned mech would be of
better use than an omni forced to cut corners.

The Desert Stalker carries an extensive array of heavy weapons. A pair of ER
PPC's and a ER Large Laser allows it to fight on, even if it used up its
ammo.

An LRM 20 makes gives the Desert Stalker a good support weapon. Combined with
the PPC's and Laser, it can pound the enemy at range.

Should the enemy get closer, a pair of highly accurate Medium Pulse lasers are
available to fend them off.

If the Stalker has one weakness, It is the relatively low speed of the design.
It is not designed for running battles, though it's long reach does
compensate for this.

Extremely well-armoured, the Desert Stalker also mounts an Anti-Missile system
that extend the Desert Stalker's excellent durability.

==Battle History:==
The Desert Stalker has been bid in several fights against enemy Clans in
recent years and has proven itself a potent design. While not as flexible as
an omnimech, the fine-tuned weapons array makes it very dangerous.

Desert Stalkers have taken on heavier designs such as the Gargoyle quite
succesfully. The Desert Stalker has yet to see extensive combat against Inner
Sphere forces though simulations have shown it should be able to take on
almost anything the Inner Sphere could throw at it.

==Variants:==
The success of the Desert Stalker prompted Clan Goliath Scorpion to design a
heavier assault version which is still undergoing field trials. If the design
is successful, it is likely to become the standard assault mech of the Goliath
Scorpions.

==Deployment==
Several Clans have noted the Desert Stalker and have attempted to gain the
design, though the Scorpions guard their design jealously.

Credit must go to Christopher Duke for his graphic design work, I merely put stats on it.
