The Marauder (unseen) It's a classic, looks good, fights good and the 5S version kicks butt.

The Battleax, an old Battledroids mini given stats in Battletechnology. It's a poor Warhammer clone, but it has character and flaws you rarely see in the TR's these days. And playing one takes quite a lot of skill.

The Vindicator : It's not a particularly good medium mech. It's slow, has decent armour and has a PPC. It will probably be killed one on one, but it's a good team player.

The Mad Cat : Fast and deadly, probably one of the best overall mechs out there.

The Warhammer (unseen) The Warhammer looks like it can kill anything. The stats are none too shabby either. Playing one takes a little skill and is very rewarding to play.

The Locust : Probably one of the most simple, most efficient mechs ever designed. It's a fast nuisance mech, but it can bring down unwary mechs if you ignore it.

Behemoth : If you want to kill and stomp on small things, take it. Looks so mean. It's a Marauder Rip-off, but don't say it too loud or it'll rip your Marauder II to pieces.

The Atlas : It's the classic assault mech. It's not a very good design, it has a few flaws, but even when playing L2 against Clans etc, whenever an Atlas steps on the field everybody pauses for a moment. It commands respect even today.

But the coolest one in the book

The Cauldron Born :

On the lower end of the heavy class, it looks business, even the mini looks good with a chunky, solid feel to it. It has the point-break 5/8 speed, and can carry a nice mix of weaponry for 30 tons. Cauldron-Born all the way.

Don't overlook the good ol' TDR-5S Thunderbolt...lays the smack down on your Warhammer or Marauder 2 out of three times if it can get into medium or close range (even better odds if you load the SRM with Inferno rounds , and puts up an even fight at long range. Better armour than either, comfortable but demanding heat balance, and a nice mix of toys at any range. THE difinitive Heavy, IMHO.

And some typical KJ insanity... Everyone agrees the Rifleman is a poor excuse for a Heavy 'Mech, but I've always enjoyed piloting one in larger team battles, 'cause everyone underestimates you!
Peace is that glorious moment in history when everyone stands around reloading.

Can't go wrong with the Timber Wolf or Shadow Hawk.

I've got a massive soft spot for the Akuma and Cauldron-Born, though.

It should be noted that the Cauldron-Born once looked even more badass than it currently does. It appearance in he Invading Clans sourcebook was much different.
Yea, verily. Let it be known far and wide that Nightward loathes MW: DA. Indeed, it is with the BURNING ANIMUS OF A THOUSAND SUNS that he doth rage against it with.
