------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ==Overview:== The CMX-4G Camaxtli is a heavy fire support mech in the line of the Awesome and the Flashman.
When the Randam Mechwerks factories were raided by WOB forces they ran into the Randam Security Battalion, equipped exclusively with Camaxtli, a prototype mech intended for service with FWL forces, but failed to get a contract. None of the other houses were interested and the Randam board of directors decided to replace its ageing security forces with the pre-production Camaxtli mechs.
WOB forces confronted two Camaxtli companies while a third flanked the enemy attackers and attempted to destroy their dropships.
==Capabilities:== The Camaxtli was designed as an energy-based fire support mech with a superior heat management.
Using the Awesome as inspiration, designers boosted the top speed to 64 kph using an XL engine, freeing up enough weight to mount 18 double strength heat sinks allowing the installation of a pair of ER Large Lasers and a conventional PPC. Although another energy weapon would have been the more logical choice, designers mounted a pair of LRM10 racks, while underpowered for such a heavy chassis, they were ideally suited to the type of operations the Camaxtli was designed for.
Though a long range fighter, it carries heavy armour and an ECM system giving it the ability to close the range with enemy forces without fear of being prematurely disabled.
==Battle History:== WOB forces attacked with two companies of heavy and medium mechs. While Able and Baker companies defended the factor, Charlie Company engaged the enemy dropships. Much to their surprise WOB forces landed a fourth dropship containing a reserve force of assault mechs. The battle was bitter fought and the WOB forces used their dropships as fire bases to cover the advance of their assault mechs.
As the WOB forces broke off the engagement at the factories, Able and Baker joined the fight, it was the timely intervention of a group of hastily gathered mechs piloted by Mechwerks personnel that saved the battalion from destruction.
WOB forces boarded their dropships, but one of their ships, now nearly empty, set course for the factories in a suicide run. All forces present at the factories opened fire on the dropship's vulnerable engines and though several production lines were damaged in the crash, the main factory was saved.
Demand for the Camaxtli shot up after this incident and a record production of 217 Camaxtli was achieved until the factory was nuked by WOB forces four years later.
==Variants:== Though several variants were considered, the destruction of the main Randam Mechwerks production line effectively ended the production run.
==Notable 'Mechs & MechWarriors:== Commander Sally Grant Mitchum
Sally Mitchum presented a rather surprising figure with her blood red hair, tattoos, piercings and a preference for plaid miniskirts. A skilled mechwarrior and excellent officer, the unusual level of personal freedom Randam personnel enjoyed, allowed her to express the raw edge of her personality.
Deadly in combat, she died dueling a pair of Vanquishers, leaving an impressive trail of destruction behind her. Her flanking move probably kept the WOB forces on the defensive and saved the factories, despite their suicide attack.
==Deployment== Camaxtli ended up scattered across the Inner Sphere, most going to Lyrian Alliance forces and the Free Worlds League.

Not all that bad at all... Enough Ammo for the Launchers and a better-than-average Heat Curve. I'm always edgy of large designs with XL engines though. Still it works well with its requirement of being a Brawler. Can force Long Range for just a few more secodns to get more Ammo out of its Torso.
I'd order a few.

nice build, hard hitting assault; the fluff is good too, shows its a mech thats a basher; and anything that puts WOB back in its place for a time is a good thing.
Greetings Mechwarrior.
