Something of a fluff design, although I am yet to write it up. The design is exclusively Capellan in deployment, and then only in small numbers. The idea was to have a combination command/ fire-support 'Mech for Maskirovka agents leading or directing units in combat situations. Considering the reliance of Capellan troops on their leaders though, it was felt that a solid, reliable design had to be chosen, one that would symbolise the staunchness and resolve of their (the Capellan people) leaders. This prompted the choosing of a quad chassis, which provided maximum stability in combat, as well as a solid platform for heavy weaponry. For long-range fire-support, the Betka (Russian for Beetle) carries a trio of LRM-10 launchers, evenly distributed across its torso and with two tons of CASE-protected ammuniton in the right torso. Close-range punch is provided by dual SRM-4 launchers (single ton of ammunition in the RT) and two machineguns (half ton ammunition in RT), along with a trio of normal medium lasers in the head and two front legs. Featuring a standard fusion engine (260-rated, with DHS) on an EndoSteel framework, covered in 14.25 tons of standard armour (totalling 22% of 'Mech weight) and equiped with pre-Clan era weaponry, the Betka is nothing special when it comes to technology. Manufactured by Hieron Mechanized Systems, a company under direct Maskirovka control, at an unknown location during the years 3052-2064, the Betka is yet to see any action outside the Capellan Confederation.

Counter-insurgency and guerilla use, although the guerillas would have had problems with the heavy reliance on ammuniton
