Hi,
Is it standard, so to speak, for mechs to be ID'd by a faction marking as well as a unit marking? So would my Lyran Gaurd units have a stiener logo as well as say a logo for the Saucy Sixth? Assuming it could fit on the Mech.
Thanks,
Jonathan

Normally yes. But then some units only go with unit markings.

Depends on how famous the unit is, I would say.

For the most part yes, but different regiments also place them on different parts... Most Lyran Battlemechs have the Mailed Fist insignia on the Shoulder or Foreleg (occasionally both), on the BattleMechs's Right Arm, wheras the Left side is reserved for Unit Markings and Lance/Company Markings.
(Although, this is from memory, and may be grossly inaccurate)
If you check out the Steiner Handbooks, it usually says where the insignia is located on the 'mech, or on Armour or Aerospace Fighters.
