The following are the rules will be applied to #neveron and #Neveron_Newbies IRC channels:
0. The "Elastic" Rule: Any chat resident that is found to be maliciously disruptive or generally uses the chat in a manner not condoned by the operators will be punished with any means neccessary to restore law and order in the channel. The rules protecting chat regulars do not apply to this kind of person.
1. Treat other people with respect. Personal insults won’t be tolerated by the ops regardless of whether the target is in the channel or not.
2. Do not swear. Swearing will result in kicks or, if excessive, in bans. Even if it’s obviously a joke, some phrases will get you disciplined regardless of the circumstances.
3. Do not spam. Repetition of same or similar lines is considered spamming, as is repetitive joining and leaving, repetitive nickchanges, excessive advertising of websites or anything else that seriously disrupts the chat.
4. No caps (unless its just a word or two for emphasis), bold, colors, stupid fonts, or other stuff that hurts the eye. No channel notices from non-ops.
5. No promotion of warez on this channel.
6. No unsolicited links or MP3 file invites, etc.
7. No impersonation of other people. No anonymous nicks like 'Guest'.
8. Provocation is no justification for any rule violation. Provoked offenses will be treated just like unprovoked ones.
9. The channel is about Neveron. Harmless off topic will be tolerated. But if it gets out of hand (personal, sexual, insulting etc) take it to #neveron_chat or you will be removed at the ops discretion.
10. If you feel the channel needs op-action, please PM the people wiht the @ in front of their names. They might have their eyes on another channel. If you feel there is unfair treatment going on, please PM a non-involved op or post it on the open forum here.
11. The channel ops are to enforce the rules at their discretion. First time offenders will be warned vocally. Kick should be first warning for infrequent offenders. If an offender persists, he gets a ban for a period of time fitting the offense. Frequent offenders may be banned w/o warning.
12. The channel ops are subject to the same rules. Also ops should not abuse their powers, and only kick in jest if they know the target will get the joke. When leaving chat, ops should give ops to someone trustworthy that will be on for a while to 'maintan law and order'.
13. The chat rules apply to PMs and setinfos as well.
14. Circumventing a ban will result in a prolonged ban.
15. If you have a problem or question as to why you were kicked/banned speak to the op nicely. Insulting or threatening the ops will most likely make bans permanent.
16. All permanent bans will be kept track of on the new chatop message board, so do not expect your permanent bans to be lifted the next day as in the past.
17. Peon status will now only be given out to certain people at the ops discretion, not as candy for everyone to get.
18. Surfing the rule limits to annoy the ops (and possibly the rest of the chat) may result in op action.
19. Absolutley no drug talk.
20. The channel language is english. Talking in another language will probably get you kicked or banned if you persist.
21. In-game action against empires owned by ops because of justified op actions may result in longtime bans against the offender. Samething vice versa, no ops are to take ingame action against presistent offenders.
22. Annoying, insulting, or completely bogus (i.e. composed primarily of underscores/non-verbal characters, etc.) nicks may result in a kick at the ops discretion.
23. Excess negativity about Neveron and/or its admins is not tolerated. The #neveron channel is supposed to help the game and its players, not to be a platform for certain people to make the game and its creators look bad.
