It appears as Ye Ole MechForce Quarterly Vol #4 Issue #1 went and did this one on ya. Not that they are so special.

Looks like you tried to mimic the orginial IS variants. MF did not. Three major differences are XL vs no XL, you are giving up some firepower due to smaller launcher sizes, and critical placement of the SSRMs is different.

I would be inclined to give it Endo Steel so as to add the all-important Munch item of Artemis to the LRMs. It leaves an extra ton open for, perhaps, an ECM Suite, TAG, Active Probe, additional Double Heat Sink, or extra ton of armour.

The only criticism of this design I have is the weak armour. Granted, the original Dervish had tissue-paper protection, but this 'Mech too seems a little light on for armour. Perhaps the ER Small Laser could go in favour of an extra 1/2 ton? I know it's nopt much, but that extra 11 or so points of armour could be all the difference.

Other than that, an interesting design. Several 'Mechs have been neglected (with regards to IIC status) for far too long by FASA, and it will be interesting to see if FanPro decide to do anything about it.
Yea, verily. Let it be known far and wide that Nightward loathes MW: DA. Indeed, it is with the BURNING ANIMUS OF A THOUSAND SUNS that he doth rage against it with.

Some mechs don't need massive refits when you build them with Clan tech, this is one of them, I am going to try though to give it MMLs from the new group of weapons.

Hello, all:

While I'm new to this forum as well as Sarna.net, I'm a 20-year-plus BT guy, and, as it would happen, the inventor, as it were, of the Dervish IIc, as well as an Archer IIc I submitted at the same time, but which MFNA never printed (the Dervish was admittedly superior).

My version of theD2C, as published a decade ago in MFQ 4-1, uses 2 LRM20s with three tons of ammo, a pair of Streak-4s, and a Medium Pulse and ER Medium Laser. It has a 275XL engine and jump of 5, 15 double sinks and I can say with pride that I've never lost one in combat. I've had some get pretty badly ripped up, but never destroyed.

I'll try to print/cut/paste the specifics on here if anyone's interested. Email me about it directly at theinsleys-at-verizon.net

A extra light engine might actually hurt the Devrish more than it would help it. After all it would hurt it in close combat.

Mind you I've never really figured out the Devrish, myself. Is it a support mech, or a close range fighter? Or is it just yet another attempt to do both with one design..

I like the fact that 2 tons of srm2 ammo was kept. gotta love the infernos!

as far as the pourpose of this mech, even in it's original level 1 IS form i saw it as a medium sized long range support mech that has a short range harassar abbility. Although it's no archer it does perform it's duties in those roles. Still a tad slow for those short range skirmishes... I really like the IIC versions that keep the same (similar) weapon loadouts. I am nostalgic though...

Interesting, I never really gave it any other role then a close in fire support mech, by that i mean it gets in blast then enemy and then fades back, had some success with that. But I am such others can give their opinion of the mech and what it can or can't do.

I use to run a lance in a light company that was "Light fire support" 2 panthers, 2 dervish - I guess thats kind of where I always used it. Harasser / Light Fire Support. I mean after the intro of specialty munitions they can also provide mine fields and the like.
