Technical Problem - CPU usage of iexplore.exe 100%

Hi, I am new to the game. I am using IE6.0 and tried two different computers. I had no problems playing the first mission, so i think i have a feeling what the game should look like.
When I join an arena_tourney the game starts as normal, very soon the CPU usage of the iexplore.exe goes up to 100%. I have a very big lag and almost never the chance to react in time.
I looked in this forum and the help system but couldnt find anything. Besides IE6.0 do I have to have special browser settings?
I was a huge Battletech-Fan as a kid and would really like to give this site a chance, but it's just not playable like this. Thx for any help

IE6 does crash occasionally in battle - I have had no problems with IE7 though.

neveron is page whore. clean out you temp internet file daily. ive had lagg issues with nev and cleaning out that will help some. cable dsl is also another issue, at least in my area. if there is big wars going on or wws doing some maint we will have laggggggg. dont give up on it. IE 6 crash is as follows if you scroll the map during a refreash chances are it will crash. dont scroll the map use the cords on your units ive never had it crash doing this.

instead of cleaning out your temp files every day, you can just set the folder size to something small, mine is set for 50 mb, runs smoothly

im not posative, but im pretty sure you can set IE to dump the page files when you close IE or on reboot, or other such options. That does it for you automatically that way. Anything in the temp files is not needed to run your computer or play Neveron. It will simply reload the new Neveron pages as needed.

thx for your posts. i tried the temp-files-thing, but still not working. one time i could actually move 4 times in a row (always talking about arena_tournies), the rest of the time i could never do anything and beeing kicked out of the game all the time.
just dont get it. like i said, i tried different computers even different isps. if there is not the one special ie-version with certain settings i just dont understand why people are able to act and i am not.

IE7 works fine is all I know. Best idea, just try to avoid scrolling while it's loading pages - that tends to help.

the FFA is generally the laggiest battle you will find in neveron simply due to the number of people that leave their units unatended there and end up runing timers. in a regular battle with a broadband conncetion you can usually control atleast a company of units. Try doing a one on one arena, its a completely differtent experience comapared to FFA (lag wise) you occasionally get lag spikes, but its not nearly as much as the FFA.

yeah, standard arenas are about the least buggy/laggy part of Nev. In my humble opinion, also the most fun, hehe
