Purpose: The Snapping Turtle is intended to fly around the battlefield in packs or individually, find isolated targets or targets of opportunity and kill them quickly. Basically it can quickly exploit enemy weaknesses. The Heavy Gauss Rifle allows it to kill smaller targets with a single hit, and the ability to convert into an aerospace fighter or AirMech allows it to escape more heavily armed enemies with relative ease.

Man this thing's slow. A faster opponent can just keep out of the effective range of your hgr and slowly cut you to pieces.

While you have tonage alocated for the Jumpjets, you don't specify where they are located. There are no specified rules that you must have jump jets distributed symetrically, they usually are and i view this as an unwritten rule.

This leads to the problem where to distribute the Jump jets as you only have space left in the Head RT and all legs but the Rear Left Leg. Now we have the problem with of it being an LAM with the "thrust" coming from its jumpjets (now burning fuel) but the "arms/ Forword right and left legs) would become the nose of the craft and not be able to provide thrust. (not even sure quads are eleigble to become LAMs)

Then as lafeel pointed out, its very slow, especially for an LAM and would be absolutly murdered on the ground with its speed/armor profile and quickly shot out of the sky in hybrid mode. Aero space fighters would fly circles around it and mow it down.

Interesting concept, but the inherent problems with LAMs (need for speed, cost of conversion equipment) real hammper them carrying any major firepower or mech killing guns.

Sorry if i sounded harsh.

Just to sound a bit clearer, by "effective" range, I don't mean staying out of the Heavy Gauss rifle's range, but to stay out of the medium/short range bracket, where it's the most effective.
