Total destruction of I3042 community, and Nev, an observation

I don't know how many of you are aware of what is presently transpiring on Invasion 3042. To make a long story short, the Clan War 2.0 is under way in which the non-HoC Nev population that migrated there is attempting to wipe the small core that was HoC out of the game. They have of course been trying to do this since before the game was even open, when it was Anti-HoC waging intense forum PvP against formerly HoC players. Basically the I3042 community is self destructing in exactly the same way that it did here on Neveron circa 2005-2006.
I mention this because I would like to point out just how far this community has come.
Yes there is still bad blood on this game. Yes it rears its ugly head too often in public. But on the whole the undercurrent of hate that once existed on this game has been replaced by something a little less caustic.
There is still a lot of room for improvement, and there is still way too much negativity, but you have all, as a whole, made real and significant strides.
I applaud you all, A to Z, for the small things you have done to be good community members, and the large.
When this community hit rock bottom it was actively engaged in driving rival players from the game itself. I no longer feel that intent from this community, even in the midst of name calling and other gutter moments.
As far as I am concerned that trash element that left Neveron to chase its dreams of ruinous community behavior on Invasion 3042 can stay gone forever. But if they return at some point in the future I hope you can all stand together in rejecting a return to the old ways and the old days.

After Nev, there can be no other game, because the nev community was all the people who wanted such a game.

Oh, there are still a few people I'd like to see driven from the game utterly - you all know who you are - but yes, mostly it just seems to be abject hatred rather than tryting to murder people IRL.

Invasion though isnt as a good a game as Nev it does have several things Neveron doesnt.
1. An admin who gives a shit.
2. A future.

Well, I'll have to disagree regarding Chet's emminent qualifications on this game and these forums but I have to say, even you have done your small part to make Neveron's community a little better than it was before.
The point was, and is, that the garbage going on there is what we had at our worst, and this community has at least self recognized its pathology and recognized where change was needed. Regardless whether you value that, there it is, and you took part in it. You may have only taken part in it a tiny bit, but you still did.
So there.

Protip: Forming a group and then donate thousands of dollars into a game to get custom factions, custom Mechs and a move from IS to Clan Empires will not make you friends. Playing that aggressivly will not make you friends either. This created "hate" in nev and you seriously can't expect this will not
create hate in any other game these people play that way.
With all the actions those players did its no wonder people try to gather to wipe them out as long as they still can.
Maybe, just maybe, they should have taken it slow instead. If they left, the game will maybe have fewer resources to play with for some time. But trust me, its much healthier if many donate a bit, than some donate large sums. Not to mention that it makes it more fun to all players if battles are small scale and not result in giant gangbangs. Nev failed in this (mostly admins fault though) but the players who are complaining now that people banded together to attack them are the same players that still suround their empires in nev with 1city empires so that they are hotdrop online or have to go trough a corridor full of tower zones.
Not a big loss to i3042 imho.

Well, Gangrel, the "crimes" that this group of players is purported to have committed is largely hyperbole, exaggeration and excuse, but meh everyone has an opinion.
The undisputed fact is that this group of players has never tried to run anyone from any game they have played. But on two games now they have been the target of such attempts because they are "aggressive" or "too good".
That level of OOC grudge and hate is never a positive force in any game, and to think that it will have some beneficial influence on I3042 is naieve.
If all those players had banded together to simply kick CWM's ass in game, that would be much different. That's gameplay, and there are always winners and losers. Indeed HoC here on Neveron never had any issues with straight wins and losses. But the objective is to drive them from the game, and that's the problem.
I hope that this community can continue to reject that sort of OOC community destroying behavior. It is reprehensible. Destroy someone's empire or alliance, sure. As long as it is in game. But the minute you make your objective to route the player from the game, a line has been crossed that is far, FAR worse than CWM's "aggressive play style".
That's the bottom line. CWM is aggressive and people can rightfully decide to oppose that IC'ly. But its opponents are acting like children OOC'ly, and deciding that their playground should be closed to people they don't like in real life.
Get what I am saying? There is no excuse nor reason to drive someone from a game because you don't like their playstyle. Or let's be realistic, because you don't like losing.
But anyway back to the original point. The Nev community has made remarkable progress. I mean if even Hoppy and some of his most hated HoC opponents can not only coexist in main chat but have halfway decent conversations from time to time, well things have changed. =P
Nev's community is aces above and beyond Invasion 3042's, specifically because over the past half year or longer major community members and groups have realized the hate can't continue, and have made attempts to do something about it.
I'm proud of this and you all should be too. This is a community based game. Even enemies need to exist together within the community. Invasion 3042's players have forgotten, or probably more appropriately, never learned this.

OK, here is where I put on my asshole hat and do my part to better the community
Altho Katar had good intentions pointing out what he felt were posative gains in Neveron, he did in fact 'rip' on another game, thus giving the thread a negative taint. Once that gate is opened, all hell usually breaks out. As is the case here.
Matt attempted to take the most negative crap from this thread and archive it. Instead of dropping it, people felt the need to argue in the archives. The 'discussion' also continued here.
I am now locking and moving this thread to the archives as well. I do not have an issue with discussing any other game here on our forums. We will never add filters removing other game names etc. My rules here are simple.
Keep it clean
Keep it posative
Keep it on topic
If you cant manage that, then the forum mods will step in and cleqn up the mess the few tards make. As for the rest of you that are not tards, do not repsond to the nonsense. If you want a post reviewed for content, send me a PM here or in Irc. Ill get on it and remove inappropiate topics / comments.
FYI: I have heard a rumor about WWS. He is supposed to be crawling out from under his rock soon. I have not spoken with him directly. I heard this 3rd party. It is however a sign of life as the 3rd party DID speak with WWS. Hopefully this means we can expect to see him return in the very near future. As for his family and previous RL issues, I have heard that his family is all presently ok / healthy. Not much info other than that available atm.
