BattleMech Technical Readout

Type/Model: Foehn CLB-V01
Tech: Inner Sphere / 3055
Config: Biped BattleMech
Rules: Level 2, Custom design

Mass: 55 tons
Chassis: Standard
Power Plant: 330 XL
Walking Speed: 64.8 [75.6]km/h
Maximum Speed: 97.2 [118.8] km/h
Jump Jets: 6 Standard Jump Jets
Jump Capacity: 180 meters
Armor Type: Standard
Armament:
6 Medium Lasers
5 Small Lasers
1 LRM 15
Manufacturer: Private
Location: Solaris Reaches
Communications System: Cobra 10-4
Targeting & Tracking System: Mach I Tracking

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
A design born a bread in the areana of Solaris has come to fruition.
With all the trials and errors, mostly errors, compete it is time for a
true test. After a few short years of changing stable names after
gaining slight notoriety and reconturing the slabs of armor to mask
the identy of the mech the design team has left Solaris. Even though
the name and apperance of the mech and team changed radicly
almost monthly the underlying design shifted slightly with great
efficency each time. After every few wins the team would move out
in order to hide their grand scheme, to make fools of and lay waste
to both the clans, and the Cretins'(Kuritans').

The original design, and intended future production model will be
titled "Chinook". Foehn and Chinook are one in the same,"A warm,
dry wind descending from the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains,
causing a rapid rise in temperature. These winds often melt snow
quite rapidly, at times at a rate of up to a foot per hour." the Foehn
wind is the same phenomenon in the Apls mountain range, both
located on Terra.

==Capabilities:==

The latest incarnation of this beast did not feature the Deathbloom
LRM 15, hastily attached to the left forearm, Nor did it feature any
long range weaponry. This addition was a design comprimise at the
last minute. It was added at the cost of dropping a pair of 4 ton
Hatchets. Once the trials are complete the production model is slated
to include two massive Claws. The overall design premise is to cripple
or destroy an enemy in a matter of seconds using the impressive
speed and brutal physical dammage generated by the Triple Stregnth
Myomers. The lasers bristleing from the torso were almost a second
thought, simply as a sorce of heat to empower the TSM. With a little
practice and forthough in the "heat" of battle the pilot can easily
maintain the optimal opperating temprature for the myomers. The
dammage dished out by 6 Martel MKII's and 5 Pico Small Lasers is
nothing to snicker at though. The biggest drawback, other than the
range limmitation of the parent design, and the heafty price, on the
order of 13M C-Bills, is the vulnerability 330 Vox XL engine. This is
also what allows the design to nearly keep pace with the fleet footed
Locust, and throw punches that rival the mighty Atlas.

As with most one-off privateer mechs it does have it's flaws. many of
the sub-systems such as the armor integrity sensor net and the
actuactor position leads still glitch at the most inoprotune times.
although the position lead issue sounds dangeous, you always want to
know where one leg is in relation to the other, right, the problems has
been isolated to the hand actuactor subnet. The issue was bypassed
for the most part by putting the hands into a "lockjaw mode" arround
the grip of the hatchets. This has resulted in the hands assuming the
grip position even now with the hatchets removed. Only time will tell
how the actuactors stand up to pysical combat in this state.

==Deployment==

As only 3 have been built they are easy to keep track of. The 3 are
not the same, amost like looking at the evolution of a species one
passes on it's best qualities to the next. All in all they are basicly
similar, with the newest of the 3 being sent to this trial. The other 2
are housed in an undisclosed location.

Overview
The Hunter was concieved and deisgned as a light scout hunter/killer with a secondary Role as a gurilla fighter/ raider. To acomplish this mission the designers chose the 50 ton weight class as a good middle ground, light enough to sill be able to move effectively, yet heavy enough to mount weapons sefficent to criple or destroy most light mechs in a few salvos.

Capabilities
The hunter is well armed with an ER PPC and 5 medium lasers and the heat sinks to use them. The medium lasers are designed as the main punch for the Hunter and the PPC is ment more of a last chance weapon if a light mech manages to out pace the Hunters Medium lasers. An interesting feature of the Hunter is that in each side torso, one of the Medium Lasers and one Double heat sink is bolted in place in a rack system. The designers did this so that in less then an hour the rack can be removed and replaced with a seperate rack containing either an ECM or Begal probe and a small laser. While this down grades the firepower the Hunter carries, it greatly increases its abilty to function as a heavy scout or a vanguard mech for the rest of its unit. Obviously this Versitility was barrowed from the clan omni-mech concept, though in a more limited fasion.

Deployment and Combat
While only played out in simulators and wargames, commanders have paired the Hunter with ultra fast mechs such as the Locust and Cicada with great success. The faster mech is able to delay the enemy mechs long enough for the hunter to close with and destroy the enemy.

Variants
There are still a few prototype Hunters that replace the machine gun and ammo, all of the medium lasers, two heat sinks and the ER PPC with 6 medium pulse lasers and 2 streak SRM-2's with one ton of ammo protected in a CASE. This configuration was abandoned when tests showed the lack of a long range weapon and the shorter range of the pulse lasers consistantly allowed recon mechs to escape. The Quartermaster Command is still evaluating this version as a city fighter to supplement the Hunchback however. This would be a welcome addition to any militia units that might recieve them, but the larger

If you are allowing in all levels of UACs, LBX and ER weapons, then you may want to change the date to 3060.

All right Karagin. Sounds good.

Sorry Dester, but your design needs at least one ammo-fed weapon. Even a machine gun would be fine.

Overview:
The battlemech codenamed Talonpoint is a left over prototype from
CMCDesigns' BJO-45 project, which was aimed at making a hybrid 45 ton
omni-mech from the Blackjack BJ-1DB, 1DC, 2, 3 and BJ2-O variants.
The Talonpoint was scheduled to be recycled. But, it was put back
into the Active Research Proposals Pool when a CMCD executive overheard
the Mech's test pilot commenting about how he'd have taken the doomed
battlemech any day over the old militia Griffin he piloted on
weekends. The executive has entered it in a tournament to prove to
the CMCD board that the mech is worthy of development funding
approval.

Capabilities:
The Talonpoint carries 95% maximum armor, jumps 180m/591ft,
cruises at 64.8kmh/40.5mph has a maximum speed of 97.3kmh/60.3mph.
Its main weapon is a Poland Main Model A Gauss rifle backed up by a
pair of Diverse Optics extended range medium lasers.

Now that the time for submiting desings in nearing it's end I feel it is time to reveal the true path of my plan(OOC)...

In essence, the team and mech sent to this meeting are ringers. They have spent most of their lives coming up with design edges and arena tactics specifficly taylored to one-on-one combat. This is something most mechwarriors will not face in a real world battle field. The Foehn is the odds on favorite and after it's expected victory it is assumed they will be offered the contract. The offer will be denied. Without fighting a battle for soil or border the point will be made who has the superior design in production. House Kurita will be producing a loosing design, or none at all.
