Unlike the original riflemen this mech was meant for ground support not as an AA platform. This mech can wipe out lighter mechs before they can get into range to return fire.
Why argue if the glass is half full or half empty, when you know someone is going to knock it over and spill it anyways.
I was a Major *pain* before
But I got a promotion.
I am now a General *pain*
Yay for promotions!!!

Mini gauszilla..yay.
Oh and don't be too sure of the bit about it being able to as you say "wipe out" lighter mech's before they get into range. It might be able to do that to some of the canon designs, but there are plenty of light mechs out there that would give this thing night mares.

I meant some lighter mechs. Not all lighter mechs.

The problem with the design is that while the lgr's are very long ranged, they lack the hitting power of their full sized cousins. While pairing them with er large lasers does improve on the overall hitting power, nowadays a lot of light mechs pack everything from er large lasers to, in one case, mrm 40's, and I am sorry to say that I am not entirely sure that this can stop them from either getting to range for those, or worse, into it's rear arc.

If I am in open terrain and can keep backing up. That should help a lot in keeping them out of there range and away from my back armor

Help, yes, keep them out of there forever when your movement is 4/6, no.
Not unless what you're hunting is a Charger.

Solid fire support mech, but I cringe at changing tonage of a mech while keeping the same name.

Been done before. The Jagermech gained a 70 ton variant. Although a large part of the blame for that has to be laid at Micro$oft's feet for making the Jag a 70 mech in one of their games.

Yeah, why all the IIC versions bug the hell out of me in TRO 3055 (the orignal unseen versions) kinda annoys me when they even change the speed too....

Doesn't help that there's next to no resemblance to the 'mechs they're supposed to be IIC versions of (three notable exeptions: Jenner, Warhammer, and Marauder IIC's)
Really makes one wonder what on earth they were thinking when they named those designs.

Then you will really hare some of the other mechs that I changed around.
