Neveron is Temporarily Offline
The Good News: The long term stability problems that Neveron has been experiencing has been fixed. After replacing several parts on the server that I thought may have bgeen causing the problem, as well as a nerve racking episode of replacing the thermal paste on both the processors that required the removal of the motherboard and almost breaking it in half trying to get the heat sinks off, I put the server back in place and brought it online only to have it shut off again right in front of me. The problem? A faulty battery backup was restarting whenever it felt like it and I just happened to be lucky enough to be there when it did. So yeah all that work when all I really needed to do was plug the server in to the other battery. Awesome.
The Bad News: A brand new mystery glitch has prevented the server from working properly and I'm going to need to drive back down tomorrow and spend the day fixing it. I hope to have Neveron back up and running tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon or early evening, but there is a chance that I will need to work on Wednesday too. Is anyone available to babysit?
