Fluff:
The LTB was actually inspired by another project, a Davion attempt to mount Long Toms on a King Crab chassis. The result was both slow and prone to exploding, but gave the
mad scientist known only as "The Wrecking Crew" the spark
that would result in the LTB. Mounting two Long Toms on a
mech was too extreme, it wasn`t capable of anything else
after that. He wanted a fast Long Tom carrying mech, something that wouldn`t be destroyed just by firing it`s main gun a few times. The prototype looks likely as a fire-support unit, and is mobile enough to go on the offensive if the enemy breaks.

Capabilities:
The LTB mounts a Long Tom Cannon, and that`s plenty enough for most kinds of wrecking. Splash damage to adjacent hexes should make for interesting times among
tight vehicle formations. The mech has enough heat dissipation to run, fire the Long Tom and keep the Null Signature System up for as long as needed. Firing any lasers
at enemies that get close will require that the NullSig be turned off, but there should be enough heat to turn on the TSM instead. The machine is also surprisingly fast for its size,
and any raiders that come too close may find it out the hard way. A TSM-powered punch or kick is guaranteed to put
most medium mechs out of commission immediately.

Since he is an arty mech, speed is not so much an issue as ammo/survival. Hence the 5 tons of ammo (1 smoke, 2 cluster, 2 HE) and the 8 Med Lasers keep anything that is within Minimum range toasty. Costs a lot less too. Oh yeah, all the armor is hardened, so it takes two lucky head shots to kill it.

But, I am more likely to keep Arty in a vehicle as it does not build up heat and cost alot less..

Just entered the LTB in my HmPro, and the program suggested the TDB had the BV wrong. According to Hm it should be 2,059 points.

Your long tom mech is interesting, if you happen to have the old Mechworks you can actually fit a LONG TOM artillery piece on to a 100 ton mech...
