Say what? After nine years a sarna administrator finally pays attention to these Nev forums and they go after buc's silly posts?
I can understand if you don't know any of the people that have throughout history posted in Sarna, but actual trolls are blatantly and easily identificable here, just as they are most places. I can guarantee you that no Neveron player that utilizes these forums reads (or read) buc as a troll. Silly perhaps. He is that. But not a troll.
Not to step on any toes, Cray, but it's really not doing Neveron's community any favors to basically tell one of the five people that still play to cease and desist their posting if those posts lack offense. At least they still visit.

Yes, exactly, since buc's burst of responses to ShadowmasterCM looked a bit like baiting. Other posts, even louder griping about Neveron, were more within the posting rules.
To be clear, there was no ban for buc, no official written warning (which would've been sent by PM instead of posted publicly), no deleting of his posts, just a minor "remember the posting rules" statement. A little nudge like that shouldn't hurt anyone who's been on the internet more than a week and if buc was a entirely innocent then there's still no problem - there's no record being kept of little reminders like that.

maybe you should make a wws complaint forums section? most of these complaints are true and have facts behind them. to simple ban or delete people because you dont agree with posts is rather 1 sided. due to the fact wws does not at all let us know whats going on with neveron half the time is due to the complaining. so heres the facts wws does not talk to the player base hardly at if at all? so what needs to be done to improve player base moral? wws need to be more active in talking to the player base on whats in store for nev if anything at all. bottom line when and if he pops in chat all you a-holes do is jump all over him about bs. i my self have legit tickets over 1 yr old. so yeah cray people come on here to bithc becaouse their is not other way to try and get a hold of wws. im all ears about some other supposed way players who are pissed off are supposed to react to the state of the game. and im no noob been playing neveron for over 7yrs.

I just got done saying I don't mind the stronger complaints against Neveron's operations because they do not violate the posting rules. Attack the ideas, not the person. Don't post just to stir up trouble. etc. The guidelines let you say some caustic things and vent your grievances. There's just a few rules meant to keep those from escalating into a flame war.

I haven't banned anyone because I disagree with their posts. In fact, I've only banned one non-spambot poster, and that was because he kept creating fake accounts (including in the middle of a 1-week ban for posting politics), posted on real life politics, and directly insulted other posters. I've never banned anyone else (unless you count spambots).
Actually, I've never even issued a formal warning to anyone else, cbtgod. I think I'm up to a grand total of three "watch where the thread's going" posts.

Well, you could say something like, "I'm fucking pissed at the state of Neveron. I think the apathy and lack of communication sucks balls. I have tickets over 1 year old and would like them addressed." That's a perfectly acceptable statement within the posting guidelines.
It's when you...
1) Make frivolous statements that don't contribute to the thread
2) Troll
3) Directly insult a person instead of the idea (e.g., "You're a stinky head" instead of "This lack of communication is a stinky head")
4) Violate other posting rules
...that I step in. If you stay within the posting rules, I don't care. There's plenty of room for venting in the posting guidelines. Use that room if it makes you feel better - that's what it's there for.

I think you misinterpreted what happened, CBT. Nobody was banned or anything. Cray is just a (relatively) new mod that was unable to read a goof's banter for what it was. No big deal.
Any forums belonging to a game in which the community has such a deeply rooted contempt and hostility towards its developers (richly deserved in this case) is bound to be a challenge to any moderator. Add to that the fact that these forums have never, until now, garnered the mediative attention of a Sarna administrator (though mb and SM as local moderators have been helpful), and there is the possibility of future misunderstandings.
Everyone just needs to be open, reasonable and respectful and this dead game's (nearly) dead forums will be fine.
