Ok from everything that I have read on the wiki part of of this site about the summit meeting between Jamie Wolf and the heads of state in the Inner Sphere, they held a Trial of Position for some reason.

I know that Kai Liao-Allard came in first, and Victor Stiener-Davion came in third. Who came in second and what was thier prize for placing high in it? I mean Kai got his 'Mech outfitted in Clan tech and Victor got his Dire Wolf...so what did the second place Mech Warrior get?

Just wondering.

And if anyone has a list of the who placed and what they got that would be nice too!

Hohiro Kuritia came in second. He got a Dire Wolf too. Kai refused his first-place prize so that Victor and Hohiro could be on an equal footing. I will see if I can dig out the book and find the answers to the rest of your question tomorow. If I could just figure out which box my wife packed it in...

Didn't Theodore's son come in second?

The book I believe was Blood Legacy or the later half of Lethal Heritage.

He is indeed. And yes it was in Blood Legacy, as I have that entire triology.

Ok, I understand now who came in second. Now if someone would tell me who else was in the Trial with the three of them, I could better understand a bit more. That would be helpful.

As an interesting side-bar, the four of the opposing 'mech pilots were Hanse Davion, Justin Allard, Theodore Kuritia, and Jamie Wolf.

And the fifth was Jamie's son if I remember correctly. Not a easy group of foes to fight by any means.

edit: As a further itneresting side note, the worst performer of all was Sun Tzu who hit his ejection button as soon as the trial started, leaving Kai to take on (and take down) those five warriors on his own.

He took down four of them.

As a side note, why does everyone spell Jaime Wolf's name wrong?

I think because we have to ways to spell his first name here in the US and I believe that in Britain they spell it different as well...just a thought on this point.

Is a trial of position the same as a trial of possession?

Most of what I know of the clan ways I learned from that Battletech Cartoon. I thought they called it possession... I'm slowly chewing my through the novels now so I'll get it all straight soon enough...

The Trial of Position determines what your rank is in the Clans. Look in the wiki in the Clans section.

The spelling is consistent in all source material, but fans (even Dragoons fans, and regardless of where they're from) consisently get it wrong. Jaime would probably be pissed.
