------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ==Overview:== The Crossbow is another heavy mech that has been around for a good number of years and with constent upgrading and outstanding service will be around for many more.
The Crossbow was one of the original heavies. It firepower is impressive.
The twin LRM15s and PPC give the mech a vaild punch at range and as it closes in it has enough smaller weapons to keep the enemy from getting to close.
==Capabilities:== The weapons of the Crossbow are it's trademark. It uses well proven systems and have with stood the test of time.
Over all the mech is a hard hitter that can do battle almost up to point blank range. And while it moves in to deliever it's payload of flying death, it can take the punishment the would cripple most mechs.
The maintinence of the Crossbow is another area that this mech shines at. In fact this mech has one of the best hours in combat to maintinece downtime then most mechs fresh off the assmbely line.
The durability of this mech has proven time and again that it's both a warriors mech as well as system that is there when you need it most.
==Battle History:== The Crossbow has been in just about every battle in the Inner Sphere. Whether it's a raid or a full scale invasion. The Crossbow is there lending a hand in bring down death and destruction to the enemy.
==Variants:== Variants of this mech are varied and each house as tried several different weapon mixes over the years.
The most common is to downgrade the PPC to a Large Laser and add in a couple of heat sinks.
Other versions have gone to all missiles, by stripping out all the weapons and putting in two Delta Dart 20 racks and ammo to support several days of fighting. Another variant that has seen more use in the recent years has been gone going with all short range missiles and a few medium lasers. This variant has been seen in a lot of the urban fighting that has been going on in the different parts of the Inner Sphere.
==Deployment== The Crossbow is in use all over the Inner Sphere and Periphery. Although House Stiener has the most in it's ranks.
