For some strange reason when I saw the name I expected a clan mech..

I know.

I originally tried to make this off of the Star Adder from Mechassault 2, but I decided to change a few things.

Say it was made by a star adder bondsman

Well the idea isn't bad, but this mech is a bit heat in efficient. You can just about fire both main guns and run without overheat, but adding anything more to the firepower will gain you heat fast.

edit: strike that, forgot to remove the hand actuators.

Well, it just matters on how many holes you have punched. Once a few areas are devoid of armor I like to move in close and unleash one of the HPPC's, both ER ML's, the SSRM, and maybe and ER SL.

Does some nice crit seeking.

Not every mech is going to be the munchkin Alpha strikers, most are not going to be heat efficient all the time, you seem to be missing the point of building something like a mech, you have trade offs, do you want heavy hitting guns and decent speed? Well then the armor and the heat sinks will suffer, do you want great armor and speed? Then weapons and other things again like heat sinks will removed to give you want are after.

Building a mech that has no flaws, can fire all day and the run away from the enemy without fear of pursuit is not fun to play or be up against. Nor is the idea of an Alpha Strike mech. Good players know the limits of the mechs' weapons, its' ability to fire what when and wear and know that the heat levels will be the judge of what gets used at what time. Same with tactical thinking, just because you lay waste to everything doesn't mean your enemy is going to let you get easy shots.

This mech is not bad as it is, it is something to be learned and used and mastered, just like any of the others out there.
