This one is an older IS design of mine that I converted over to Clan tech. It does okay, but most of the time it becomes the main focus of the other side to take it out fast. It runs hot if you are not careful with how you move and fire, but it does do well enough in most battles.

Good. If it were me, I would exchange the two pulse lasers for ER versions, exchange the ER laser in the head for an ECM suite, and add two more tons of gauss ammo.
But you're not me, now are you?

No and I would never use a mech beyond fighting some one who has to win at all cost, really if that is all that matters to you is winning why bother playing?

Now to be absolutely clear. I may have different views about mech design, but there are more things that matter to me than winning.
Like enjoying my time, and staying relaxed, and having fun.
I play Battletech because I love the different factions, their stories, the intrigue, reading up on technology, and designing mechs. I don't mind playing a pure canon scenario. I just wanted to test some design ideas I had.

Have to disagree with the gauss ammo, 16 shots each is plenty when you have backup energy weaps.

Well, keeping with that theme, I'd still strip the ER laser in the head for an ECM, and convert the two pulse lasers to ER versions, and put them in the center torso. The spare tons would then go to heat sinks, and they would all be in the side torsos.
Unless there was TSM onboard, I generally strive to have my mechs running cool.
