This redesign mainly strives to increase the jumping ability and armor protection, while not seriously reducing its overall firepower. To do this the engine was slightly downgraded, allowing tonnage for armor, while the SRM/streak SRM combo was changed out for a quad SRM 4 combo. While it loses some range, it makes up for this by having more missiles available to shoot. Rounding out its role is an Active Probe to snuff out Inner Sphere barbarians.

Doing a bit of housekeeping by making some changes to this design, mainly exchanging one ton of ammo for another srm 4 and switching out the active probe for an ER Med laser for range and ability to keep fighting once ammo runs out. Also, it's cheaper, but only Diamond Shark merchants would find that fact appealing.

This variant replaces the mixed ER Large Laser and LRM 5 combo with a nastier ERPPC, and keeps the small pulse for infantry work. It also has an ER Med laser like the previous variant to round out the arsenal.

This Nova Cat variant removes the streak and uses the extra tonnage to add two more ATM-3s and the series specific ER Med laser in the head.

You might consider making it an omni-mech. Thats what I did. I found it a bit easier to manage. Although that might not fit well in-universe.

Well, the interesting thing is that a lot of the IIC mechs (esp. the ones from mechwarrior 2) are treated like omnis when in fact they are not. In the case of the Jenner here, I can certainly lock it with the ER in the head since it's the common component in the designs. But I decided to keep it as a Battlemech as that is what the canon says it is.
