Over on another board we've been posting some fighters based on late 70's and early 80's anime. Just thought I'd share a couple of mine.

Overview Developed by Taurus Territorial Industries as a cheap point defense fighter escort, this fighter is deployed almost exclusively from space. First deployed in 3020, the unit has seen marginal success with Concordat forces. Complaints of it's poor overall firepower and lack of rear firing weapons are often offset by the exceptional protection and durability of the design, as well as it's exceptional heat management systems.
Capabilities The use of twin tri-barrelled Pontiac-50 Autocannons mounted in each wing root gives the unit remarkable punch with exceptional heat dissipation characteristics, allowing it to maintain fire on a target much longer than many of it's contemporaries. A pair of Diverse Optics type 18 medium lasers provide additional firepower close in, however overall the unit lacks the firepower of many of it's competitors like the Ahab or Slayer. Most of the ships mass is devoted to structural re-inforcement and an unprecedented 23 tons of armor, giving exceptional protection.
Deployment Exclusively deployed from the Concordat's single Alliance class dropship, the design has proven usefull in several engagements against pirate forces over the past few years. While not the most powerful craft, it's service record has shown remarkable ease of service and maintennance, allowing a 92% operational readyness, remarkably high for a craft manufactured and maintained by a periphery state.
Varients Having seen many refits to extend their service life, by the late 3050's Concordat high command began looking for a replacement for the design. TTI's Cosmo Tiger won the contract, however budget constraints prevented the acquisition of more than a dozen of the newer craft. As such TTI proposed a complete factory refit of the design, to be designated Black Tiger II. Designed to carry the Davion build RAC/5 in place of the older Pontiac autocannon, two additional tons of ammo, ER medium lasers, double heat sinks, and 21 tons of ferrous armor, the design shows much promise, although political considerations have only allowed six of the craft to see this refit. Designers are exploring the possibility of retaining the standard autocannon, and instead of increasing the ammunition carried adding an extra pair of ER Medium lasers, one front and one firing aft.
Heave to and prepar ta be boarded ya scurvy sons of a New Bedford streetwalker.
Kept my cool under lock and key,
and I never shed a tear,
another sign of my condidtion.

Somewhere on here I posted my take on this...should be interesting to compare.
