As the topic title says, I am wondering what folks use for brush size when detailing their mechs/vehicles etc...

Hi Karagin!
I can't tell you the size of my brushes any more I used to buy extras and trim them to the size I needed.
However small of detail your eyesight provides, try starting with size0. Buy a cheap-ie set from Michael's or Joannes' (or any other craft-store).
After several years of learning, I migrated to practice-painting insignias / logos / sharp detail on strips of aluminum, before actually trying on mini's... Some year I might strip all those early paint-jobs and re-do them, but in a way they sorta serve as keep-sakes and memories, of 20+ years ago.

Thanks Hythos! Very helpful are the pictures you posted. I will be using that one as a guide once I get the chance to go shopping.

I just started paining last Sat. I went with a 0 size for most work and 0-5 for the detailed stuff.
