Yesterday I stumbled upon the following, interesting (at least IMVHO) 'little' thread:

"An overdue apology and request for parley"

http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1536065

I started reading and tried to catch up, but no way, the thread started expanding faster than I could read. Everytime I thought I had finally reached the end of the thread and updated (clicked on "last" post) there were one or two pages more to read already ...

By the way, any SWG (NGE) related déjà-vu feelings, or any Nev-related, random forced faction war (2005, old era Neveron, still with Randy and Wayward, our old admins, at the helm) related déjà-vu feelings?

Just some food for thought ...

Have a nice day / night.

"There Ain’t No Drama Like Spaceship Drama Cause Spaceship Drama Don’t Stop (Now With 200% More Cats)"

The 'cat(suit)' parody pics are just brilliant (at least IMVHO).

And CCP's official answer so far to "life, (the EvE) universe and all the rest (of the questions of their disgruntled customers / consumers / player base / community )" seems to be: 53 monocles ...

the 'little' thread(naught) at the official EvE-O forums has been locked (449 pages total):

http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1536065&page=449

but it spawned another, slowly growing, official thread:

"New Dev Blog: Accord reached at CCP's special summit"

http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1544681

and numerous inoffical small threads as well.

The offical CCP blog

"accord reached at ccp's special summit"

http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=935

leaves some room for interpretation for all parties involved.

The following excerpt from the official CCP dev blog
Quote:

"There are no plans, and have been no plans, as per previous communication and CSM meetings, to introduce the sale of game breaking items or enhancements in the NeX store."

reminds me of the following quote from Walter Ulbricht:

"Nobody has the intention of building a wall" ...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Ulbricht
Quote:

"On 13 August 1961, work began on what was to become the Berlin Wall, only two months after Ulbricht had emphatically denied that there were such plans ("Nobody has the intention of building a wall")."

Another excerpt from the CCP dev blog:
Quote:

"The investment of money in EVE should not give you an unfair advantage over the investment of time."

offers some room for interpretation as well, particularly if you keep PLEX (EvE game time, bought with real life cash) for ISK (EvE's in game currency) sales in mind, because one could argue that the investment of real life money (PLEX) in EVE could already give you an unfair advantage over the investment of time, or, to word it slightly different: the investment of real life money (PLEX) in EvE could give you a 'fair advantage' over the investment of time ...

Even without AUR and the NeX(t) generation RMT shop - for vanity only items, at least so far - RMT and "pay for advantages" gameplay has been introduced into EvE a long time ago already, at least IMVHO.

Just some food for thought, please feel free to make up your own mind ...

Have a nice day / night.
